Another proud moment for India and our KIIT & KISS family. My lovable KIITians Sawan Barwal, Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Prachi Choudhary have won three more medals for India—two Silver and one Bronze—at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Sawan ran the Men’s Marathon in 2:11:37, setting a new national record and bringing India a medal in this event after 44 years. Tajinderpal won Silver in the Men’s Shot Put with a throw of 20.64m. He has now won a medal at three Asian Games in a row, including Gold at the last two. Prachi won Bronze in the Women’s 400m, clocking 53.21 seconds.

Our KIITians have now won six medals for India at the 20th Asian Games—three Silver and three Bronze, across five individual events and the mixed 4×400m relay. I hope many more will follow.

Another medal for India and another moment of happiness for our KIIT & KISS family!

My lovable KIITian Baranica Elangovan has won the Bronze Medal in the Women’s Pole Vault at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, clearing 4.15m. This is India’s first-ever pole vault medal in the history of the Asian Games, making her achievement very special.

After breaking the national record twice earlier this year, Baranica has now created history for the country. Heartiest congratulations to her!

A proud day for India and for my lovable KIITians at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

Our KIITian Seema Kumari has won the Bronze Medal for India in the Women’s 10,000m Race, clocking 32:50.05. India has also won the Silver Medal in the 4x400m Mixed Relay with a timing of 3:14.46. I am especially happy that five members of the Indian relay team—M. R. Poovamma, Vishal T. K., Vithya R., Jay Kumar and Kiran—are our KIITians.

My heartiest congratulations to all the medal winners, their coaches and support teams. With 54 KIIT student-athletes representing India at the Games, several more events are still to come.

I am very happy and deeply honoured to receive two special honours from two beautiful cities of Romania—Milișăuți and Bârlad.

I was conferred the Honorary Citizenship of Milișăuți. I was also honoured by the Municipality of Bârlad with the prestigious title, “Key to the City of Bârlad”, a very special honour, symbolising that the doors of Bârlad will always remain open to me.

It was a very special moment for me to receive these honours from the respected Mayors in the presence of the council members and many eminent people. I accept them with all humility as recognition of my lifelong service to education, humanity and society.

I am grateful to the Honourable Ambassador of India to Romania for being present on both occasions. My heartfelt thanks to the Mayors and all the council members of the municipalities of Milișăuți and Bârlad for their warmth, affection and respect.

I will always cherish the love and honour given to me by the people of Romania.

A very proud moment for our KIIT & KISS family as 54 of our student-athletes will represent India at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan.

From 14 athletes at the last Asian Games in Hangzhou to 54 this time, this journey makes me very happy. Our KIITians and KISSians will represent the country across seven sports, with 45 athletes in Athletics alone.

I am especially happy that Tajinderpal Singh Toor, who won Gold for India at the previous Asian Games, has been chosen as one of India’s flagbearers for the Opening Ceremony. Along with him, many of our experienced and young athletes will once again carry the hopes of the nation.

It also gives me great joy to see nine athletes from Odisha, including young talents from our tribal communities, being part of the Indian contingent.

For many years, we have tried our best at KIIT & KISS to give our sportspersons the facilities, coaching and support they need to fulfil their dreams. Seeing 54 of them wearing the India jersey at one Asian Games is very special for me.

It was a very special feeling for me to hear Padma Bhushan Param Pujya Didi Maa Sadhvi Ritambhara Ji speak so warmly about KISS and our work.

Didi Maa herself has spent years in the service of children, women and society, so her appreciation means a lot to me. She had heard about KISS earlier, but after seeing the campus, meeting our children and witnessing the work closely, her words came from the heart.

I remain deeply grateful for her blessings, affection and encouragement. Such words give me more strength to continue serving with the same sincerity and commitment.

Yesterday evening was very special as I joined the Ganesh Puja celebration at the Ambani family residence, Antilia, in Mumbai, on the kind invitation of Smt. Nita Ambani Ji.

In the midst of the Puja and so many guests, Nita Ji, Mukesh Ji and Anant Ji personally took time out to receive me and spend time with me. We had a warm interaction and discussed several things close to our hearts.

During the evening, I spent a few minutes interacting with Anant Ambani Ji and found him to be very warm, humble and wonderful, despite the stature he holds.

I have always admired their simplicity, warmth and respect for people. I am very grateful to the entire Ambani family for their love and respect for my work. The evening was special with the darshan and blessings of Ganpati Bappa.

A very proud moment for me and for our entire KIIT & KISS family!

The World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Meet at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, concluded with a wonderful performance by our KIITians.

23 KIITians participated in this prestigious international meet and won 11 medals — 4 Gold🥇, 2 Silver🥈 and 5 Bronze🥉.

It gives me great happiness to see our KIITians performing so well on this international platform and winning medals for our country.

Sports have always been an important part of KIIT & KISS. I have always believed that with the right opportunity, training and encouragement, our young sportspersons can achieve great things.

The World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Meet begins today at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, and it is a matter of pride for Odisha to host such a prestigious international athletics event.

I am very happy that 23 of our KIITians will be competing in different events, and 5 of the 6 athletes representing Odisha are from KIIT.

Around 2,000 of my lovable KISS children will also be at Kalinga Stadium to watch the event and cheer for the athletes. I am sure their presence and support will make the occasion even more special.

I also thank the Government of Odisha for bringing such an important international championship to Bhubaneswar. Competitions of this level give our Indian athletes valuable international exposure and will help them prepare better for the Asian Games in Japan this September.

My best wishes to all our KIITians and every athlete taking part. Give your best and make KIIT, Odisha and India proud.

I felt very happy to interact with the 28 students and 10 faculty members from the City University of New York (CUNY) who are here as part of our IndiaTrek initiative. They come from different parts of the world and are presently studying and teaching at CUNY. Some of them are also associated with the research centre at CUNY named after me.

After spending more than a week at KIIT and KISS, interacting closely with our students, faculty and staff and experiencing life on our campuses, they were very curious to meet and talk with me. I was very happy to hear their feelings. They said that after seeing the entire ambience, environment and infrastructure of KIIT and KISS with their own eyes, they were simply amazed. They also appreciated the love and hospitality they received during their stay.

Through IndiaTrek, every year we are also trying to take Odisha to the world. Our participants experience the culture, heritage, food, traditions and important tourist places of Odisha, along with visits to Delhi and the Taj Mahal in Agra. When they return to their countries, they carry with them not only memories of KIIT and KISS, but also a beautiful experience of Odisha and India.

This is what makes IndiaTrek very special for me. Young people from different countries come here, live together, learn together and understand our culture closely. I hope they will remain friends of KIIT, KISS, Odisha and India throughout their lives.

Heartiest congratulations to Murali Sreeshankar on winning the silver medal in the Long Jump at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow with a jump of 8.09 metres. This is his second consecutive Commonwealth Games silver medal, after Birmingham 2022.

Coming back after injury and winning a medal at this level is not easy. I am very happy for Murali. He has made India and the entire KIIT family proud. My best wishes to him for many more successes ahead.

On National Handloom Day, my greetings to all our weavers and artisans who keep India’s rich tradition alive through their skill and hard work.

Odisha has a very special place in India’s handloom heritage, from Sambalpuri to our beautiful Ikat traditions. Our handloom carries the identity, culture and creativity of generations, and we must always take pride in it.

Happy to welcome a 15-member delegation from Assam representing Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust, who visited KISS and spent time understanding our work closely.

I was very happy to know that they appreciated what they saw at KISS. Every day, many educationists, social workers, students and other resource persons from different parts of India and abroad visit KIIT and KISS to see and understand our work in education, tribal empowerment and social transformation.

It always gives me great happiness when people come here, interact with our children and take back some good ideas from KISS. I hope their visit was meaningful and memorable.

KIIT School of Management organised its 17th National HR Conclave on the very important theme, “The Equalizing Effect of Generative AI: Bridging the Skills Gap.”

I was very happy to welcome Sri Sanjeev Agarwal, CEO & Managing Director – Middle East & India, Protiviti, as the keynote speaker. His simple message that it is Humans and AI, not Humans vs AI was very relevant. He spoke about how Generative AI is changing the way organisations work, learn and develop talent.

I was also happy that KIIT and Protiviti signed an MoU for future collaboration, which will further strengthen our association and create more opportunities for our students and faculty.

The conclave brought together industry leaders, experts, faculty members and students to discuss AI, future skills, HR practices and the changing workplace. I always feel happy when our students get an opportunity to listen to and interact with experienced people from industry, because they learn many things which cannot be learnt only from books.

I am happy to see KSOM continuing this tradition through the National HR Conclave and giving our students such good opportunities to learn and grow.
