@JakeOnRailways@NetworkRailLIV They rely on a limited taxpayer budget so hiring someone to draw a graphic for a temporary poster wouldn’t be feasible and this looks better than a blank white poster with text imo
Monday reality: Fares are at record levels, yet SWR still needs £100m+ in taxpayer subsidy. We’ve gone from a network that paid into the Treasury to one that drains it, all for reduced timetables, overcrowding and daily delays. A new vision is needed. @SW_Help@Heidi_Labour
@thomasforth From my experience of living in Leeds where these robots operate the only safety risk is the delivery e-bikes driving at 10mph or more on the pavement (illegally) and nearly hitting pedestrians. The little robots pose no danger…
@JGourd7@northernassist@alexhornbyrail I agree, and if the train is going to stop there to wait at a signal anyway it might as well let passengers on and off. It’s a good interchange as well and I know there’s a lot of passengers wanting to go from Leeds/Wakefield to Meadowhall and not take the stopper
@northernassist@alexhornbyrail on the new Yorkshire Flyer service today (which is great) but surely instead of sitting outside of Meadowhall without calling there to wait for a service from Huddersfield, the Flyer could just call here on the way to Sheffield?
1/ Did you know that in Britain, the Transport Secretary personally has to sign off on every single mile of new tram or metro line?
Whether it's 50 miles or 500 yards, the final say sits on a desk in Whitehall. This centralisation is killing our infrastructure. 🛑
From April 1, ‘On Time’ moves from 1 to 3 mins. 🚩
Desperate for ‘success,’ Govt is moving goalposts while SWR's performance plummets. Since nationalisation last year:
📉 Cancellations UP 50%
📉 Delays UP 29%
Fix the trains, not the stats! @SW_Help@Heidi_Labour#SWRWatch
@NathanTBatWaver Ending current DOO is not economically feasible in any possibility. The railway needs to be mindful of its costs with the limited govt subsidy it receives and over the last 40 years, DOO has proven to be a safe and effective system used on metro/suburban systems imo.
