@528haoz Dare I say the reason why this show is refreshing is because Nakamura is the most unapologetically and bravely I’ve seen a teenager deal with queer identity in a conservative setting. Sure, a lot of escapism goes into it, but that is his primary coping mechanism.

@528haoz Nakamura never showed any signs he was at odds with his identity. He is of course not open with it, bcs he knows it’s not commonly accepted, but he created his own world where he was able to indulge in queer joy. This episode is just where he was confronted that reality.
