रांची के राज हॉस्पिटल में एक मरीज को एडमिट कराया गया था क्योंकि उसका पैर फ्रैक्चर हुआ था,

भर्ती करने के बाद मरीज की 2–3 दिन तक ड्रेसिंग नहीं की गई, जिसके कारण शरीर में इंफेक्शन फैल गया,

ऊ��र से इलाज के नाम पर करीब ₹22 लाख लिए गए और बाद में डॉक्टरों ने कहा कि मरीज को बचाया नहीं जा सकता,

It is very interesting to see this data from the Tamil Nadu government and understand what they intend to do. These details are compiled from publicly available news sources.

​It is quite surprising that all these calculations have been made public. Although the government currently has no plans to privatize liquor distribution,which is definitely a disappointment, their other moves are very encouraging.

​For context, TASMAC is the Tamil Nadu government's liquor distribution entity. The following data has been provided by Minister Vignesh:

​The annual procurement by TASMAC is around 88 lakh cases.

​An unofficial premium ranging from Rs. 40 to Rs. 90 per case was being charged during procurement. Because of this, roughly Rs. 1,000 crores per annum went into private pockets.

​For every single bottle sold by TASMAC, an extra Rs. 10 was charged to customers in cash, over and above the MRP.

​This led to an additional Rs. 3,600 crores per annum going into private pockets.

​In total, it is estimated that around Rs. 5,000 crores per annum was being siphoned off from TASMAC in this manner.

​To combat this, the Tamil Nadu government has issued a G.O., overhauling procurement guidelines and structurally eliminating middlemen kickbacks.

As mentioned earlier, genuine efforts are being made to improve probity in public life and reduce corruption.

​The direction is good. Let's wait and watch.

It definitely looks like the Tamil Nadu government is focusing on transparency, stopping leakages, and ensuring revenue goes to the state exchequer.
