Essentially if you have a few runners and a few terrible calls you should still be massively up.
When you have 2 projects that went x10 but 5 projects that went to 0 you are still A VERY profitable trader.
Then why is it still so damn hard for most?
It's because people don't secure the profits on those wins either.
The bad calls slowly ride to zero and the good calls?
They will keep holding them because they look at their overall portfolio and see that it's still up.
"Just need another X multiplier to have ..."
This is all fine and all but at that moment you aren't securing the wins but you are taking the losses.
In a theoretical world where runners keep running forever that's.
Yet we all know things don't work that way does it?
These things eventually turn back and roundtrip.
Leaving you with no winners anymore and only the losers.
Conclusion:
If you take the losses in your portfolio you better also take the winners.
You don't want to be an endless donator to the market now will you?

A lot of people will continue to hold a project purely out of desperation or hope.
Roadmap deliveries never achieved? Bullish delay!
Every higher time frame support lost? Price will reclaim it!
Team dissappeared? They will come back!
The main struggle of investors isn't just the take profit part when everything goes well.
It's also the inability to sell when things go south.
It's mainly the fear of being at a loss and desperately hope it'll come back.
"But what if it ever comes back!?"
In most cases it doesn't and looking for 1 single example in the market where it did isn't sustainable.
And let's just say it did? (usually it doesn't)
The opportunity cost for holding on for years just to get break-even is often even greater than taking the loss itself.
Not to mention the fact that most tokens don't have a longer life-expectancy of 1 cycle.
To this day I still have friends holding on to stuff from past cycles because they are in a loss on it.
For some this is their 2nd or 3rd cycle and they still haven't made money because of this.
1 cycle you learn - 2nd cycle you earn - 3rd cycle you are free right?
Well some people keep learning for no matter how many cycles they go through.
All on you to decide if crypto will either be life-changing journey or a costly one.

All my friends are making so much money with meme coins and low-cap gems.
My Twitter feed is full of people posting their 1000%+ trading gains.
And yet, my portfolio is barely moving. This sucks!
Am I doing something wrong? Am I the only stupid?
Should I throw away my strategy and rebalance everything? I don’t want to miss making generational wealth this cycle. This is my one and only opportunity to make it!
This feeling is called fear of missing out (FOMO).
If it hasn’t hit you yet, trust me, you’ll feel it at some point in the upcoming bull run. Everyone does - there’s no exception.
FOMO is your worst enemy in the crypto market because suddenly, you’re not trading against the market anymore but against yourself.
In my first bull market (2017/18), FOMO hit me hard. I was jumping on coins that had already rallied, changing my strategy frequently.
Eventually, I lost 70% of my portfolio.
It was indeed painful. Trust me, you don’t want to go through the same pain as I did.
So, what can you do to avoid falling for FOMO?
1. Build self-awareness
You have to become a master of your emotions! Whenever I feel FOMO creeping in, I take a step back and remind myself of my long-term goals. Recognizing these feelings helps me stay rational and stick to my strategy.
2. Take breaks
Taking breaks is crucial to keeping sanity! I prioritize taking regular breaks from the market and social media. Stepping away helps clear my mind and prevents me from making impulsive decisions based on hype – that I would regret!
3. Reflect
Each 2nd Sunday, I review my investment strategy and how my portfolio is performing compared to my original plan. Reflecting on what's working and what isn't keeps me on track and helps me adjust my approach when needed.
4. Zoom out
Whenever I feel FOMO, I try to look at the bigger picture and the long-term potential of my investments. This broader perspective helps me avoid getting caught up in daily market swings.
Always remember: meme coin trades and low-cap gems can make you a lot of money, but more often than not, it’s a losing game.
99% of these projects go to zero. And the one friend showing you their 100X paper gains today might be back working at McDonalds sooner than they could imagine.
Stay to your strategy!
Don’t let FOMO control you.
