Why are we in the hills being deprived of timely gas cylinder refill??

We need the gas more than those who live in the plains. We need more gas as it takes longer for food to cook.

I live in Municipal area of Darjeeling, which is not rural by any standard of imagination. Yet, I am being asked to wait for 45 days before I can rebook my cylinder.

What are we to do, eat uncooked food till then??

On 18th June, a 13-year-old girl took e-rickshaw to go to her home in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan.

Instead of taking her home, the driver kidnapped her and sold her to someone in a hotel. She was rescued from a hotel on 22nd June by police.

In these five days, this minor girl was moved between four different local hotels, forced to consume alcohol to suppress her cries, and sexually assaulted by 32 men.

All the hotels connected to this case have been demolished. 12 people linked to the exploitation have been arrested including the rickshaw driver.

Anyone who assaulted or helped others to assault this little girl should be hanged to death. Anything less than that is just waste of time and resources. These people so filthy and unworthy that they should not be allowed to breathe the same air.

On behalf of the people of the Darjeeling Hills, Terai, and Dooars, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sh. @SuvenduWB ji for his strong commitment and support towards the welfare of our tea garden workers.

The government of West Bengal has finalized the implementation plan for the ‘Pradhan Mantri Cha Shramik Protsahan Yojana’ (PMCSPY) with a total financial allocation of ₹313.30 Crores. This scheme will bring transformative changes in the lives of our tea workers and their families.

The key components of this major initiative are:

Cha Shramik Shiksha Yojana (CSSY): ₹177 Crores have been allocated to strengthen educational infrastructure and quality interventions for the children of tea garden workers.

Cha Shramik Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (CSSSY): ₹72 Crores will be invested to upgrade health facilities and provide better medical services in tea garden areas.

Cha Shramik Aashray Yojana (CSAY): ₹63 Crores have been sanctioned to construct 321 modern Resting Sheds (88 in the hills and 233 in the plains). These sheds will be equipped with off-grid solar power, clean drinking water, comfortable seating, and hygienic ceramic-floored toilets.

CM Suvendu ji has announced that the North Bengal Development Department (NBDD) will lead the execution of this project in close coordination with the Health Department, Paschim Banga Samagra Siksha Mission, and the respective District Administrations.

The BJP government under the inclusive and visionary leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Sh. Suvendu Adhikari ji remains steadfast in its dedication to the prosperity, dignity, and well-being of the tea garden workers of our Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars region.

Tibet’s Struggle Echoes in Tragic UN Protest

We are deeply saddened to report that a Tibetan man tragically self-immolated outside the United Nations headquarters in New York on July 3, 2026.

His desperate act was a protest against China’s rule over Tibet and a call for the world to recognize the ongoing human rights abuses faced by Tibetans.

While some Tibetan exile media outlets have reported his identity, authorities have not yet officially released his name out of respect for his family’s privacy.

TheDC extends heartfelt condolences to his family and the entire Tibetan community. We stand in unwavering solidarity with the Tibetan people in Darjeeling and around the world, and their legitimate aspiration for a free Tibet.

सिर्फ पैर टूटा था... ICU में भर्ती कर बना दिया ₹22 लाख का बिल, ओर फिर जान भी चली गई,😡😡

रांची के राज हॉस्पिटल में एक मरीज को एडमिट कराया गया था क्योंकि उसका पैर फ्रैक्चर हुआ था,

भर्ती करने के बाद मरीज की 2–3 दिन तक ड्रेसिंग नहीं की गई, जिसके कारण शरीर में इंफेक्शन फैल गया,

ऊपर से इलाज के नाम पर करीब ₹22 लाख लिए गए और बाद में डॉक्टरों ने कहा कि मरीज को बचाया नहीं जा सकता,

सच कहूं तो आजकल कुछ प्राइवेट हॉस्पिटलों में गजब की लूट मची हुई है।
