A 9-year-old child is in surgery after being struck by a driver who reportedly didn’t stop at Bailey and Lovejoy in Buffalo.

Before the political tribalism starts, pray for this little boy and his family.

Then ask the question every city should be asking: Are we doing enough to deter reckless driving and hit-and-run crimes?

Every child should be able to walk their neighborhood without their parents wondering if the person behind the wheel will stop if the unthinkable happens.

Buffalo has struggled for years with crime, reckless driving, and low confidence that offenders will be held accountable. Whatever your politics, those outcomes deserve scrutiny because families are the ones paying the price.

A community is measured by how well it protects its children. Tonight, a 9-year-old is fighting through surgery. That should matter more than partisan talking points.

Please pray for this young man and for everyone who loves him.

"I just got off work after a long shift—6 a.m. to 9 p.m.—and had to go back in at 4 a.m. the next morning. I stopped at the store to grab a few things for work, still wearing my dirty work clothes.

While shopping, I saw a family with a teenage kid, maybe 15, and a little boy around 6 years old. As I walked behind them, the little boy started making funny faces at me. Being a dad myself, I made some faces back! He laughed, but then his parents looked at me—dirty work clothes and all—and quickly rushed away.

I didn’t think much of it until I heard them talking in the next aisle.

They were scolding their older kid, saying, ‘If you don’t go to college, you’ll end up like him—no money, struggling in life.’

We all ended up at the checkout at the same time. The kids were asking for candy bars, but their parents snapped at them, saying they couldn’t afford it.

So, what did I do? I bought each kid two candy bars. Their parents looked shocked and told me I didn’t have to do that.

I smiled and said, ‘I know I didn’t have to, but I had extra money and wanted to share it today!’

What I’m saying is this—just because someone is in dirty clothes, looks rough, or even smells bad doesn’t mean they aren’t successful or kind.

The dramatic minefield rescue you described is Donald E. Clausen's Medal of Honor action, not Raymond Clausen's.

A Marine platoon unknowingly entered a minefield during combat in Vietnam. Explosions tore through the unit, leaving eleven Marines wounded and one dead. With enemy fire continuing, Hospital Corpsman Second Class Donald E. Clausen repeatedly crossed the uncleared minefield to reach the casualties. Six times he carried wounded—or fallen—Marines back to the evacuation helicopter. During one rescue, another mine exploded, killing a fellow corpsman and wounding three others nearby. Despite the danger, Clausen refused to stop until every casualty had been evacuated. Only then did he signal the pilot to lift off.For his extraordinary heroism and selfless devotion to duty, Donald E. Clausen was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Richard Nixon in 1971.

A tiny sandwich shop decided to take a chance...

They heard Liam Neeson was filming Hard Powder nearby, so they wrote a joke on their chalkboard:

"Liam Neeson eats here for free."

On the other side, they added:

"Come in and get TAKEN away by our sandwiches."

They figured he'd never see it.

Seven hours later...

The door opened.

Liam Neeson walked in.

In his signature deep, gravelly voice, he looked at the staff and asked,

"Where is my free sandwich?"

The entire shop was in shock.

Although he didn't have time to stay and eat, he happily posed for photos with the amazed staff before heading out.

The surprise visit became such a memorable moment that the shop later created a sandwich in his honor...

“Nobody is illegal on stolen land”… until it’s her land.

Billie Eilish was recently ordered by a court to vacate the multi-million-dollar barn sitting on land promised to the Lotaka-Wala tribe more than a hundred years ago and turn the keys over to tribal elders.

Last night the barn burned to the ground.

Billings Fire Marshal Joseph Barron didn’t mince words: “It looks like she had other plans. Instead of a multi-million-dollar facility, they get a pile of rubble.”

While she’s free to destroy her own property (as long as it’s not for insurance), she is not allowed to destroy property that had already been legally transferred to a Native American tribe.

That’s a federal offense.

The same celebrity who loves lecturing America about “stolen land” just watched her own disputed property go up in flames right before she was forced to give it back.

A family-run vintage shop in Niagara Falls was just hit by a thief, and they’re asking for the public’s help to identify her.

The Vintage Venture, a little shop full of antiques, good vibes and treasures at 6289 Huggins Street, was stolen from when a woman walked out with two pieces of jewelry.

It’s never okay to steal from small business owners who pour their hearts into creating a place people love.

These shops are the backbone of local communities, and this kind of theft hurts real people trying to make a living.
