I am also appalled at how many orgs are 'going remote' (at least partially) but still trying to control where employees work from, insisting they stay close. Why can't you work from the beach if you get your job done? What gives a company the right to dictate your life like that?

This thread has some great points. Remote work is really about providing more dignity and flexibility to people rather than requiring them to bend to the iron will of the organization. Reframing remote work to distributed work normalizes this mode and allows us to harness it.
