When I was locked up this short small kid came to the gym often and spammed calves hard damn near every session.
He would do seated calf raises off the smith machine with a 45 on his lap. He would load like 500 lbs on that shit and have the bar flexing.
His calves were huge. Truly. Huge defined calves that looked like a huge knuckle on his leg. Nothing else about his physique was even impressive.
That killed my doubts about training calves..
@RepByRepX This is where people have this backwards. Do not cut into your starting weight.
CLEAN BULK MORE and up your OUTPUT to create a DEFECIT
This is how you grow while slowly burning fat at the same time.
Any excess bodyfat is HUGE FOR RAW STRENGTH USE IT AS A TOOL UNTIL ITS GONE
Why would you cut? There is 0 definition. Cutting is not practical in terms of mechanical action. Cutting is nearly purely aesthetic. Cutting will make a mf look sick and weaker.
Use the bodyweight to your advantage and lift hard until it's burned off. Up your clean lean intake, do not cut anything.
@sagelovebars Personally, I hike trails which is a nice middle ground that is very engaging being in nature. And if you run out there it's like running 2.0
@sagelovebars You're asking an ambiguous question. If both exercises equal the same total caloric exertion, they burn the same energy.
Walking is light impact and easier for many people. Running is a much more efficient and higher impact way to accomplish the same fat burn in less time
