“Muslim badges”! Admittedly I don’t know enough about Girl Scouts of anywhere because where I grew up we were forced into hijab at age 6 and weren’t allowed to wear badges or sell cookies or do anything outdoorsy, or fun, or bold, but I’m just wondering if the girls will have to enter the mosque through the backdoor because women aren’t allowed through the main entrance? Will they learn that Afghan girls are denied education because of Islam? Will they learn that girls in Iraq are legally married off at 9 because of Islam? Will they learn that Iranian girls have male legal guardians till the day they die because of Islam? Will they learn that girls in Saudi Arabia couldn’t even drive until a couple of years ago because of Islam? Will they learn that healthy baby girls get cut to be considered pure because of Islam? Will they learn they could be married off as young girls or murdered in honour killings because of Islam? Or will it be a different Islam they’ll be learning about? So many questions I know. But I’m just curious as someone who has survived Islam. So?

On the rare occasions Muslim women are allowed to leave their fundamentalist homes, they are forced to interact with the world through a veil of isolation - even expected to hide their voices from “strange” men.

And yet, many in the West insist the niqab and hijab are apparently “empowering”.

Just one day inside this body bag would undoubtedly change their minds.

The mayor of Santa Ana, California is out with police officers confronting the homeless. The homeless are offered services including treatment and shelter, if they refuse they go to jail

THIS is how it should be

“I'm the mayor of the city of Santa Ana. I'm out this morning with Santa Ana PD, with our QOLT team, our Quality of Life team, Teen Challenge, Salvation Army and what we're doing here today is we're working with those that are homeless on our streets.

We're offering them services, whether it's detox, a shelter, a program. And if they refuse all the services, then they end up going to jail. And why are we doing that again? We do this every single month. And why? Because Santa Ana deserves a good quality of life, just like all the other cities around us, and I always say that.

Because it's very important that you can walk the streets, drive around, and just raise your family here without seeing all the stuff that's going on around our city with the unhoused”

What a good man. What a tragedy.
The failure of public school education for underprivileged children without political connections is the greatest civil rights scandal of our time. It's the ultimate betrayal by the left and their pet unions.
This is the Democrat playbook: destroy educational opportunity for the children of your downtrodden constituents and consign them to a life on the margins where they will be forever chained to your big government largesse.
Of course, the machine always makes sure that the children of its apparatchiks and influencers are protected from the hell they create.
@chrispapst chronicled the causes and potential solutions in his brilliant book, “The Failure Factory,” a searing deep dive into Baltimore’s public education system that should be mandatory reading for every lawmaker in the country.

@SecretaryTurner THANK YOU! Having people laying in the street is not compassion. The best thing for them and their community is to find a way to help those who can get back on their feet. Mental health issues need to be addressed as well.

One of my earliest childhood memories is a winter morning at 0°F, when my mother and I stood in line for milk.

In those days, if she wanted to be sold an additional bottle so that we would have something to cook our hot cereal in, she had to present me to the clerk. The concern, apparently, was that a woman might invent a child in order to claim more than her share, and so I was produced as evidence that the child was real. For an hour at a time, in that cold, we waited for milk.

Measured against the Soviet communists, Mamdani is a humanist, because all he intends to require for the purchase of groceries is an ID.

Americans, many of you surely remember 1989 — 1991, when Russians, Germans, Poles — every people that had lived under socialism — threw the communists out at the first opportunity they were given, precisely so that they could live the way Americans lived. Not one of those nations has restored socialism in the years since. (Belarus, admittedly, is the exception.)

So why is it that you want so badly to repeat in your own country an experience rejected by everyone who actually went through it?
