Retired BBC journo last seen writing on the BBC website alongside @bbcsoutheast & @BBCRADIOKENT. Local girl. ๐ fitness, travel & being happy! Views my own.
Very sad to learn that Radio 4's The World Tonight is to be killed off in the latest round of BBC cuts. It has a long and honourable history as one of the more thoughtful BBC news programmes and I am proud to have been associated with it for more than twenty years.
Shocking & tragic. RIP Liam. **** Inside Liam Payne's hotel room: Smashed TV, white powder and aluminium foil are seen in suite https://t.co/06Rwrn2ZXU via https://t.co/JajRaPnitH
Happy Ceefax 50th Anniversary Day! ๐ฅณ I spent 11 happy years working as a 24/7 Ceefax national & international news journalist - based at BBC Television Centre - from 1991 until 2002, when I then moved on to the regional team covering Kent & Sussex. #greatskills#happymemories
On this day in 1974 the BBC launched the worldโs first teletext service, Ceefax.
In 2002 a new Ceefax News Service for #Kent and #Sussex went live, with three journalists keeping the pages updated each day between 6am and 10pm.
Ceefax eventually closed down in October of 2012.
I've visited the @TheBigCatSanct twice in recent years, and am a huge fan of what they do. So pleased they have finally been able to move these lions from war-torn Ukraine to safety.
