At this very moment, the commission is discussing this "massacre law" behind closed doors. They are forbidding veterinarians, NGOs, animal rights activists, bar associations, volunteers, and media from entering the Assembly building, let alone the commission itself. They are trying to pass this law as quickly as possible without public oversight. They have already passed the 4th article of the bill, which cancels 'catch-neuter-vaccinate-return' policy of the existing Law 5199, Article 6, and aims to collect all stray animals into shelters, which are essentially death camps in Türkiye. In these shelters, animals die within a week or two due to starvation, overpopulation, illnesses, or cruelty by the shelter workers. Given that existing shelters are already overpopulated and akin to death camps, this article means that all stray animals will be collected and killed.
Despite tens of thousands of people protesting this "massacre law" for stray animals in front of the Assembly building and all around the country and the world, the AKP refuses to address the real problem. This issue stems from their irresponsibility and failure to enforce the existing 'catch-neuter-vaccinate-return' law during their 20-year rule. They ignore any reasonable explanations and ethical and scientific solutions, instead opting for violence and cruelty against animals.
In the previous commission meeting, animal rights activists, NGOs, and veterinarians could watch the meeting online from within the Assembly building, even though they were not allowed into the commission where supporters of this law were present. However, they have now removed the television that broadcasted the meeting and refused to provide another one. Meanwhile, the police are assaulting people trying to enter the Assembly building, which should normally be open to the public as it represents the will of the people.
We urge them to open the Assembly and commission to the public. It is not the AKP’s Assembly or commission but the Assembly and commission of the people!

Cuckoo Flower, Often known as Lady’s smock Mayflower or Milkmaids. In Old English folklore it was said to be divine to fairies, and was bad fortune if taken indoors. It generally comes into bloom around the time the cuckoo starts to call, hence the name. As an edible food plant, young leaves or basal rosettes of the Cuckoo flower have a rather peppery taste and can be a useful substitute for cress in sandwiches and salads.

Dandelion, The 3 phases of a dandelion represent the sun, moon and stars. The yellow flower represents the sun, the white puff ball represents the moon and the dispersing seeds represent the stars.

HUGE NEWS!! This is THE moment Scotland banned snares, licensed grouse moors and muirburn and implemented restrictions on brutal wildlife traps. By doing so, the government has taken a stand against wildlife crime.
A huge congratulations to all involved. Feeling quite emotional to be honest! 🦅🥹
