The Liberal party loss in South Australia has been likened to “falling off a cliff”.

They have apparently suffered “one of the most staggering election disasters in Australian political history”.

Safe Liberal seats are now in Labor hands and the SA Liberals have finished behind One Nation on the primary vote.

Not that this is equating to many significant seats for One Nation. At the time of writing this One Nation had not yet won a single seat in the lower House.

I’m pretty sure that One Nation will paint this as a victory for themselves despite the results - in fact Pauline Hanson is on her socials congratulating “all” her winners and her Hagrid fan club are falling over themselves to suck up that sludgy fanfare like coolaid.

I’m also pretty sure any Liberal “soul searching” post election - as with their federal counterparts who lost to federal Labor in a similar landslide - will result in their moderates being outnumbered and their right-wing hard ons deciding that out One Nationing One Nation via populist rhetoric is the place to be.
