Learn about the Zero Trust security model and how to implement it within your org to enhance security and minimize risk—
Zero Trust is a security framework that requires all users [whether inside or outside the network], to be authenticated, authorized, and continuously validated before being granted or keeping access to applications and data.
1. Identify and segment assets. Create an inventory of all assets, including data, applications, devices, and users. Segment the network to create smaller zones that control access to resources based on user and device credentials.
2. Implement strong identity and access management (IAM). Use multi-factor authentication (MFA) to verify user identities. Implement role-based access control (RBAC) to ensure users have the minimum necessary access.
3. Continuous monitoring and validation. Deploy continuous monitoring tools to assess user behavior and device integrity. Use real-time analytics to detect anomalies and enforce security policies dynamically.
4. Secure endpoints. Ensure all endpoints are secure through device health checks and compliance enforcement. Use endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions to monitor and mitigate threats on devices.
5. Encrypt data and communications. Encrypt data at rest and in transit to protect sensitive information. Use secure communication protocols and VPNs for data transmission.
6. Micro-segmentation. Implement micro-segmentation to limit lateral movement within the network. Use software-defined perimeters to create isolated network segments for critical assets.
7. Automate security policies. Use automated tools to enforce security policies consistently across the network. Automate responses to common security incidents to reduce response time and improve efficiency.

You can do it all. You can work in corporate, work in tech, have your business, and your hobbies. They can all go exist at once. Black women do not need to dim themselves. It’s hard but their are spaces for us.
I always wanted to be a corporate girly and now that I am here I have recognized that it may be to structured for me. I like flexibility and full autonomy of my time.
I agree about the poor leadership because I’m startup they are all about the money and will throw you under the bus to save their skin. But I do recognize that it’s a good growth opportunity if you are up for the challenge. Take your learned knowledge and go.
Don’t worry girl you won’t be working for them too much longer. If they are anything like my job they will fire you due to lack of integrity and honesty.
my ex called me today after ten years to apologize and said the most beautiful things. sometimes you don’t get the closure you want when you want it but one day …. you will.
