British had commissioned various surveys b/w 1822-1838 to understand the Indian indigenous education system.

These surveys indicated that so-called "shudras" were in majority in indigenous schools.
Even dalit castes (panchamas) were going to school.
There were shudra & dalit teachers too.

These reports included:
1. Thomas Munro survey (Madras presidency, 1822-26): Shudras/panchamas were 60-70% in indigenous schools!
2. T.B Jervis survey (Bombay presidency, 1824-25): There were shudra students as well as shudra teachers
3. William Adam report (Bengal presidency, 1836-38): Bihar/Bengal had more than 1 lakh schools,, everywhere shudras were in majority! There were dalit teachers too!

In 1835:

British recorded 41 lakh students in traditional Indian education systems. These students studied Science, Maths, art, Sanskrit and Urdu.

52% of the students were from communities that are identified as OBC today.

Only 16% were Brahmins.

It has always been projected that historically all depressed classes faced untouchability, they were discriminated, untouchability is a religion issue, caste issue etc!

BIG, FAT LIE!

Here are some key findings from "Lothian committee report (1932)", which was the basis of communal award & SC/ST reservation👇

1. Not all depressed classes were "untouchables"

2. "Untouchability" was related to unclean professions (scavenging), eating habits (beef/pork) or vagrancy

3. Untouchability was NOT permanent.
By changing profession, ppl were no longer considered untouchable!
E.g. if a person left handling dead animals, he was no longer considered untouchable

4. Therefore, within the same caste, there were touchables & untouchables.
E.g.
-In Chamar group, ~30% ppl were touchables!
-In Bhoksa group, 60% ppl were touchables

5. Thus, untouchability was becoming a personal attribute & NOT a caste attribute

6. Whole idea of untouchability was fast disappearing!

While I empathise with you on what you have pointed out, there is a very big chance of a toothless opposition cherry-picking your data to build a fake narrative that will harm the country's sentiment more than help it.

There is a story & there is background to a story. You have only published the story without the background. Let me strive to address that.

We need to look at the hard fiscals of the budget rather than sensational headline numbers.

For FY27, the Central Government's gross market borrowing is budgeted at ₹17.2 lakh crore, while the effective CAPEX is set at ₹17.15 lakh crore. Look at those two numbers. This means the entire scale of what the Centre borrows is practically matched 1:1 by every long-term asset building. Every single rupee the government borrows is effectively being deployed to build infrastructure.

Central Government is not borrowing to fulfil the promises made in their election manifesto. Neither is to fund welfare measures nor is it to pay interests. That solves a major issue which is intent of borrowing. (I always ask, Why first before going into How & What).? Test passed.

If 🇮🇳 was borrowing recklessly to fund welfare & interest payments then Centre’s primary deficit would not have been projected to drop to an extremely low 0.7% of GDP. That is mathematical proof that our annual tax and non-debt revenues almost covers our operational costs, salaries, and welfare. Because of this fiscal discipline, the overall Central Government Debt to GDP ratio (which is one of the most important parameter) isn't heading north. It is on an explicit downward trajectory, falling to 55.6% in FY27. Hope you get this point.

Regarding your comparison between 🇮🇳 and 🇺🇸 (I don’t want to add any adjectives here since you happen to be my friend)

India doesn’t need a global reserve currency to manage its public debt because over 95% of our debt is domestically held and issued in ₹.

It is completely incorrect to club India with countries like Argentina or Sri Lanka, which triggered classic external solvency crises by over-borrowing in foreign currencies.

For every ₹ 1 that India 🇮🇳 spends on CAPEX on Infra building we have evidence which shows that it generates ₹ 2.4 to ₹ 4.8. This would make the debt look smaller over a period of time. This is for Vikshit Bharat.

The bottom line is that the government led by

Shri @narendramodi neither borrows money to service legacy interest payments nor to fund its welfare measures. Welfare is fully funded through tax collections. That is the exact financial prudence and structural turnaround brought in by
Smt @nsitharaman @nsitharamanoffc.

Coming to Semicons, I hope they read the kind of sops Gujarat, Odisha and Assam gave to Semicon companies. All states fought for Semicons but few won. Doesn't mean TN was discriminated against.

Additional, TN hasnt able to close Parandur Airport and lost Mazegaon Shipbuilding deal to AP.
