The annual budget of Maharashtra's Ladli Bahin Yojna is ₹46,000 crore. This amount exceeds the DRDO budget (₹24,000 crore) and the ISRO budget (₹13,000 crore).

Remember, this is just one state. Almost all states are running Ladli Behan, Chulbuli Nanand, Chidchidi Fufi Yojnas, whose combined budgets surpass the Union budgets for health, education, and other critical sectors.

And these are just one type of freebies. Add to this the ₹60,000 crore Kisaan Sammaan Yojna, the ₹11,80,000 crore (over five years) free ration scheme, free water/electricity in various states, berozgari bhattas, and many more.

Freebies will eventually take this country down. While there’s no hope from political parties, why doesn’t the SC takes it suo motu, form a constitutional bench or something, and take steps to nullify or regulate such freebies? Surely, they understand the dangerous path we are treading, right?

He's Vishal Kaliraman. In July 2023, despite battling injuries, he won all 5 matches in the 65kg category trials for the Asian Games.

But, he later learned that IOA's ad-hoc committee had granted Bajrang Punia a direct entry into Asian Games, leaving him out.

Bajrang failed to win a medal in the Asian Games, a scenario that could have occurred even if he had won the trials, but that wouldn't have caused public dissatisfaction. If taking someone else's right is bad, underperforming thereafter is worse.

Interestingly, Vinesh Phogat was also given a ticket to Asian Games without a trial. She later withdrew due to medical issues, and her replacement, Antim Panghal, who had won the trials, secured the bronze medal yesterday. Vishal too could have been a medalist today if the system had been fair.

From the arrest of Bittu Bajrangi and the FIR against him, the following becomes clear:

1. The police action against the likes of Bittu Bajrangi (action before his arrest) ended up stripping Hindus off their Trishula, etc, which they were carrying after several videos by Muslims had gone viral threatening Hindus. They were also carrying it as a part of the Shobha Yatra for religious purposes.

2. The Nuh police failed to ensure that the Muslims were stripped off their arms. They had stones, knives, guns, petrol bombs and more to attack Hindus going to pray in the temple.

3. 4 Hindus are dead. 6 people in total. And the police is more focused on arresting a man who committed no violence per se according to the FIR.
