her brother had reportedly been threatening her for a long time because he didn’t accept the way she lived or the fact that she was openly appearing on social media and described as a feminist and “too liberal”

in April 2021, he attacked her and stabbed her six times, killing her

he was arrested, but the case later ended after Hadeel’s mother, as one of the heirs entitled to seek qisas, gave up her right to it

so the death penalty was not carried out and the case was closed with a legal ruling

Hadeel’s story became widely discussed in Saudi Arabia because many people saw her death as an example of how family control over women’s appearance and freedom can turn into extreme violence

hello kellie. can you help saudi women with reaching global magazines and news networks for feminist issues?.. literally nobody ever spoke about us because we live in a “rich country” even tho we live a similar life to afghanistan🤢

we are tired our government is helpful but the problem is with the society and the protection rights here that are influenced by misogynistic men i can’t wait till they seethe when they see us without the burka and niqab LOL

we gain our rights to drive only because of the driving issue became global and the government had to do something to protect its image it’s like their global image is more important than a woman’s life.. same with niqab now it should be global embarrassment for them. and the culture of forcing niqab need to stop here. every woman needs to choose to wear it or not solely based on her CHOICE not by men forcing it and i wish this piece of garbage could disappear

i know many saudi women has been hanging up on you they truly think you can change the laws here which is impossible but you can at least talk to big voices for feminism here tell them our stories send big news networks the issues for saudi women and start protesting for us. and we will be thankful for all british women🩷 you are truly the only true feminist and women advocate while our women/men betray us.

i wish we could do something but in saudi the male population is 60% more than women here we can’t overpower that its scary and we could barely get our voices heard without being demonized and our reputation ruined.

this could mean nothing to you but it means the world for us #help_saudi_women
