A Lebanese Muslim doctor had been living in Germany for many years. He studied there, became a doctor, and was working as a senior physician in a hospital.

In 2012 he applied for German citizenship. He signed a declaration that he accepted the constitution and rejected extremism. He scored full marks on the citizenship test.

In 2015, when the citizenship certificate was about to be handed over, the female official extended her hand. The doctor refused to shake it. He said that according to his religion he does not shake hands with women and that he had promised his wife he would not touch any other woman.

The official withheld the certificate. The authorities rejected his citizenship application.

The doctor then went to court. The lower court dismissed his petition. In 2020 the higher administrative court also ruled that he would not receive German citizenship.

The court said that shaking hands is a common social custom in Germany, that gender-based discrimination will not be tolerated, and that such a rigid mindset runs counter to integration into German society.

A doctor’s work involves physical examination and treatment. If he will not even touch a woman who is not his wife, how is he supposed to treat a female patient?

In an emergency, would he first check the patient’s gender?

That is the kind of rigid thinking that, even after so much education, still prevents a person from thinking further ahead.

Irish mothers can feel pressurised into taking labour-speeding drug, study finds #LynneKelleher

Irish mothers have spoken of the intense, atypical pain of having their labour artificially speeded up by the use of synthetic oxytocin.

Oxytocin augmentation, usually given by drip, is used to speed up labour by stimulating the uterus. The World Health Organisation recommends it should not be used before 5cm dilation if the mother and baby are well, yet a recent study found almost six in 10 women received the drug at between 0cm and 4cm dilation.

Lead author Silvia Alos Pereniguez, PhD, a researcher at Trinity College Dublin’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, said she was particularly struck by how many women described feeling that they had little real choice.

In their accounts, mothers described how exhaustion, loneliness, pressure, trust or lack of knowledge led to their labour being augmented, often through acquiescence rather than true consent.

Did you know:

There are 61,719 households on Ireland's social housing list.

In 2019, 508 households were recorded as "refugees"
In 2025 this number sky-rocketed to 3,193.

Thats an increase of 529%!!

But the “refugee” category doesn’t tell the full story either...

If it did then the 1,320 Somali applicants on DCCs list would be 41% of that national "refugee" figure.
This couldn't be right.

There are many ways to get onto the housing list. Nationality and immigration status measure different things.

In order for Ireland's high welfare State to function with high trust, the public must have full transparency of all data.

Its the job of our media & opposition to demand this.

It applies to those behind the cover up of Covid shot harms including cancers, clots, neurological damage and possible damage caused by residual DNA contamination found to be a constituent part in Irish injections.

It applies to those politicians who take a salary but take none of the accountability *especially* in the area of child safeguarding.

These are the hyperliberal extremists in Irish society.

Two in five Irish people would now “let it burn.” That’s not radical. That’s just the customer review after Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil spent another decade treating the country like a rental they never hoover.

Same two parties. Same broken housing promises. Same “we’ll look into it” face. The only thing they deliver on time is another photo of Harris looking concerned in a high-vis. The country’s on fire and they’re still arguing over who gets to hold the extinguisher for the cameras.

And the boomers keep voting for them. Of course they do. They bought a house in 1989 for the price of a used Nissan and now they sit there telling their kids the housing crisis is “a phase.” The phase has a mortgage they paid off in 2004.

Two-thirds think the system is rigged for the connected. Nearly half feel like strangers in their own country. The Irish Times then writes a worried column about it, as if the public noticing the house is ablaze is the real scandal.

The kids aren’t angry because they hate Ireland. They’re angry because the people who already own it keep saying the smoke is “character.”

That’s not disillusionment. That’s just the bill arriving. And the people who ran up the tab still want a round of applause for remembering where they left the matches.
