Wow… I don’t even know where to begin.

Today, “In The Name Of Freedom” became a New York Times Best Seller — both in print and E-book — and was also selected as a USA Today National Best Seller.

I’m deeply honored and humbled. To be only the fourth Turkish author ever to make the New York Times Best Seller list, and the 13th NBA player in history to do so, is something I never could have imagined when I started this journey.

But this moment isn’t about me. It belongs to everyone who believes in freedom, justice, and truth. Every reader who picked up the book, every person who shared its message, and every single voice that refuses to stay silent in the face of oppression — this is your victory.

I want to thank my family, who stood by me through every challenge and sacrifice; my life coach, the late Mr. Fethullah Gülen, whose wisdom, faith, and compassion continue to guide me; the Hizmet community, whose commitment to education, peace, and service inspires me every day; and the human rights community and defenders of freedom around the world, who risk so much to protect others.

I also want to thank my amazing publishing family at Simon & Schuster, and my literary agency, Javelin, for believing in this book and helping bring its message to life. Your dedication, care, and vision made this possible.

When I wrote In the Name of Freedom, it wasn’t to make headlines — it was to shine a light on the struggles of innocent people around the world who are voiceless. People still fighting for their right to live free, to speak freely, and to dream without fear.

This recognition gives us a bigger platform — not to celebrate ourselves, but to keep fighting. To raise awareness, to stand up for those who can’t, and to remind the world that freedom should never be taken for granted.
