🎓 Successful PhD Defense — Ms. Sumera Hassan

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Sumera Hassan has successfully defended her PhD Thesis titled “Evaluation of Household Carbon Footprints and Mitigation Strategies for Pakistan: A Consumption-Based Approach.”

Supervised by Dr. Abedullah Anjum (@AbedullahAnjum) and Co-Supervisor Dr. Shahzad Kouser (@ShahzadKouser), with Dr. Rehana Siddiqui serving as the External Evaluator, her research provides valuable evidence on household-level emissions, consumption patterns, and mitigation pathways for Pakistan.

Tax targets are not substantially missed if we take into account fall in imports and downward revision in GDP growth. Any increase in tax rate would further slow down the economy. Alternate is to improve the policy and implementation. Besides provinces need to be onboard.
