We see the untaxed income all around us, but how much could be the extent of the missing tax?
I did some back of the envelope numbers to find that just the middle class (defined as household income between 5 and 30 lakh) taxes of Rs 8 trillion are exempt and evaded.
Rather than scratch away at those in the net, the government needs to catch those who remain stubbornly out of it.

It is a bad place for a country if those who are legit see the incentives of going dark.
