Think of early childhood as an apprenticeship.
Young children arrive in this world as skilled observers and mimics of the significant adults in their lives. Their goal: to be more like you with each passing day.
What you do, they will do. What you say, they will say - both outwardly and to/about themselves.
So think carefully about what you are teaching… not just formally, but as you live each day together.
Just like this sweet little one, your apprentice is always watching, listening, and learning.

This cross-cultural self-control study has sparked some of the best discussions of my career. I've got twitter to thank for this opportunity to share it more broadly:

Delighted to see the report out now! Spent many hours ideating, piloting, discussing and refining the tools in the very initial days of ASER Health! Hope it becomes a solid source of frequent & reliable data that sheds light on key determinants of health in India. @sumukhi_vaid
@OfficeOfLGJandK Sir, I have a flight to catch tomorrow and even if I am trying to work on the epass, unfortunately there’s some issue with the website.
Will ticket alone be sufficient to move within district.
It is important to give kids some agency and independence in their thinking based on their development. Always interrupting a kid or telling them they don’t know because they are too young cripples their self-esteem and self-efficacy.
Toxic masculinity hurts everyone including other boys. As a kid, I didn’t fit into the male stereotype and was bullied because of it. It is in everyone’s best interest to get rid of and create a standard for boys and men that is devoid of that toxicity and replace it with empathy
I have been thinking about this movie since yesterday and wanted to tell people to watch it who are saying why make the Hathras rape issue about caste 🙄
Infact, one can also try watching #article15
When you see a racist, homophobic, violent occurrence, please don’t blame mental illness. That’s not how people with mental illness behave. Statistically, those with mental illness are less violent than ”normal people” Being a bad person is not a category in psych!
Of late, why are people so keen on branding others as either pro or anti on every possible issue? What is right is right. What is wrong is wrong. No matter who is involved. The world used to be like that.
