This short video is from Askari 11 near gate 3 where the Hashoo group and PC are constructing six towers of 20+ floors. The smog crisis does not seem to have reached eyes, and lungs, of these real estate giants.

Update: dropped a letter to the Askari Colonies Management Office and a Mr. Abdul Ghafoor confirmed the planned felling of this tree. Fellow residents also support the letter.

Update the Horticultural Society of Pakistan has helped me identify that this tree is a kind of focus which is commonly known as the Peepal Tree and is estimated at over 50+ years. This estimate can only be confirmed once a site visit is conducted.
