As a Japanese, I can't wrap my head around what's happening in the UK.
Hundreds of thousands of young girls raped by grooming gangs.
Fathers who reported it got arrested.
Citizens told to stay quiet.
If this happened here in Japan, it would already be a civil war.
Why isn't the British military staging a coup? What are they even doing?
This makes absolutely no sense to us. Can any British person explain this madness?
Equating Ooshies with houses is obviously patronising - but it’s also just dumb.
She mentions relentless demand as if it’s a cultural phenomenon - as opposed to the result of immigration, incentives and lack of alternative investment opportunities.
She mentions more supply as if it’s a single company that controls it - as opposed to a system subjected to restrictions, delays and feasibility challenges.
Also notice she doesn’t mention rising rents - which largely affects the one third of people struggling most.
These are all within government’s control - and the outcomes don’t match the narrative.
Could it be that Anika is intentionally dumbing this down? As opposed to actually being this dumb? Maybe.
In which case I’d say our leaders have a responsibility to communicate with accuracy and empower their people, rather than belittle them.
This is both embarrassing for Anika and insulting to her constituents.
I love spending time around people who show real enthusiasm. It doesn't even matter what they show it for. Just genuine excitement. For people, ideas, and moments. For life. I think it's because I realize it takes courage to care so openly. Enthusiasm is contagious.
Its funny, if you had of told me in 2021 that Australia would be heading for year 6 of what has long been a preventable rental crisis and that people would be supporting or even cheering on the conditions driving it
I would have said you were crazy.
But here we are.
Wow, I literally watched this on Thursday night and it was SUCH a well made, informative video. What shame this country is ill protect criminals over real journalists investigating fraud
URGENT UPDATE: YouTube just took down our latest NDIS fraud investigation at the request of the business we investigated @PeteZogoulas
This is a massive attack on free speech in Australia
Our video is still up on X, we want to thank @elonmusk for defending free speech
We will fight this
CLARITY AROUND IMMIGRATION MATTERS
This week we have seen all three major parties struggle to clarify their immigration policies.
Yesterday the Labor Party backed down on the number of refugees they are taking, the Liberal Party has no number at all and One Nation have changed their 130,000 number from net to gross meaning their immigration number is not much lower than the Uniparty.
People First has the most clear and concise policies of all political parties.
You can see our immigration policy at this link:
https://t.co/tKxYxfpxIi
As you can see, not only will we reduce immigration numbers by the most, we will also install better systems to track and limit immigration.
This is what sets People First apart from the others. We offer a systemic rational approach rather than an emotional incoherent approach to lowering immigration.
Key points of our policy are:
• cap permanent visas to 100,000
• cap student visas to 300,000 by increasing student visa fees to at least $20,000 to fund apprenticeships for Australians. This should reduce temporary visas by close to 500,000.
•decrease bridging visas numbers by almost 400,000 to almost zero by tracking all visas by sponsor, tax file number and expiry date. Sponsors who allow their visa holders to overstay will be fined.
•abolish the Indian migration and mobility treaty as the agreement is asymmetrical given India’s population and standard holders
• expel visa holders with a criminal record.
• limit government entitlements
We believe these policies will reduce immigration for four to five years before overall immigration will flatten out to no more than 100,000.

Whereas other parties will tell you what you want to hear, we will actually deliver on our solutions.
Your entire life will change when you realize energy is the most attractive human trait. Not looks, wealth, or status. Energy. Start walking into rooms with genuine enthusiasm, curiosity, and interest. Watch what happens. You become a magnet for the highest quality people. Energy is contagious. Spread the kind you’d want to catch.
If you are a guest in someone’s home, you don’t demand they change the house rules for you.
Immigrants have a duty to adapt to the laws, culture, and values of the nation that welcomed them. Citizenship should be an achievement you earn and respect, not an automatic claim on welfare and benefits.
“Find me an investor who’s prepared to invest in [nuclear]”?
Nothing says we’re open to investment like two federal nuclear prohibitions and state prohibitions across the country.
Australia has the most anti nuclear laws in the world. Costs nothing to remove them.
Responsibility isn't a burden, it's the cure for a miserable life.
Old-school scolding fails because people don't care about abstract "duty." But as Jordan Peterson revealed, taking responsibility, even starting by cleaning your room, is the fastest way to build a life with actual meaning and purpose.
I’m in China now and they’re playing it on TVs everywhere.
Automation and robotics is on a whole other here.
Australia seems archaic by comparison - we just don’t embrace technology the same way.
And the integration with sport seems to be a genuine social fascination.
Aside from rusted on Labor and Coalition supporters, nobody cares who racked up more debt.
We’ve had about two decades of poor governance and just want the structural problems fixed.
Comparisons against former failed governments won’t make people support more of the same.
At some point this Labor government is going to have to take responsibility for its time in office.
And so far that legacy is defined by an intergenerational drop in living standards.
Just an extraordinary, abject policy failure on the part of the Australian government here. Just incredible / terrifying to watch them continue to double down. (Chart from @JDMayger piece here https://t.co/l9fO5eBHL1 )
