PM Modi invited everyone to celebrate #NationalHandloomDay by sharing their GRWM videos in handloom. But his efforts to put India’s weavers in the spotlight began long before hashtags and social media trends.

As @VanathiBJP recalls, at the very first National Handloom Day celebration in Tamil Nadu, PM Modi spoke about the life of a weaver with such depth and emotion that it felt as if he had lived it himself.

His words inspired her to launch an annual Handloom Fashion Show across colleges, connecting thousands of young people with India's rich weaving heritage.

That's the power of a vision that celebrates handloom and also inspires younger generation to wear it with pride!

PM Modi's GRWM with Indian Handloom reel yesterday wasn't the first time he found a unique way to celebrate India's weavers.

As artisan Chaman Siju recalls, it all began with one conversation at a textile exhibition in Gandhinagar. Narendra Modi told him, "Create organic cotton products that I can gift to world leaders. Every gift should tell India's story."

That vision came alive when Chaman bhai's organic black cotton stole was gifted to Japan's Former PM late Shinzo Abe, who admired it so much that he continued wearing it on his later visits to India.

For PM Modi, small targets are never enough. He aims high, and delivers even higher. He sets bold, ambitious targets and then ensures they are achieved, often ahead of schedule.

Former DFS Secretary Anurag Jain recalled that when the proposal for what became Jan Dhan Yojana was discussed, officials had estimated it would take until March 2016 to complete.

PM Modi wasn’t convinced.

“Two years is too long.”

He pushed the deadline forward to 26 January 2015, saying the team had not yet fully accounted for the momentum that comes when the Prime Minister himself stands behind a mission.

And the result?

The target was achieved even before the revised deadline, in December 2014, ensuring that every family had at least one bank account.

A small anecdote, but one that says everything about his approach to governance. He never sets small targets; he has always set the bar high and consistently delivered, be it Jan Dhan, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjawala or any other scheme.

Hasmukh Patel, an RSS worker from Nadiad in Gujarat recalls how Narendra Modi advised them to ensure the literature reached the maximum number of people. Instead of simply distributing pamphlets, he advised karyakartas: "Place the pamphlets where people gather and talk such as at the barber shops, village leaders and to saints, priests, who could distribute them among their devotees."
