We met Lokesh at the @mundhebanni meetup at SIT Tumkur yesterday. He had travelled all the way from Chikmagalur just to meet us and express his gratitude.

Reason? Through Mundhe Banni, he discovered the Siddhaganga Incubation Foundation in Tumkur and has now applied for a grant to build his idea into a business.

Lokesh has studied only up to 10th standard and is a farmer by background, but he has a sharp entrepreneurial instinct. In regions like Malnad and coastal Karnataka, areca nut is a major commercial crop. Once the shell is removed, it is usually treated as waste and becomes a burden to manage.

Lokesh saw an opportunity where others saw a problem. He has converted this waste into a strong, sustainable packaging material that can potentially replace thermocol, wood and similar industrial packaging materials.

He already has a working product and a few early customers piloting it. He has applied for patent too.

There is so much untapped talent in smaller towns. When given the right exposure and connections, these individuals can do remarkable things.

If we can play even a small role in bridging founders like Lokesh to incubation centres, mentors, and opportunities, that in itself feels deeply meaningful. 🙌

Dear Telecom companies,

I have two SIM cards. One is for personal use and the other is for a different purpose. I do not need data on the second SIM, so why am I forced to buy monthly plans with data?

I am ready to pay for validity, calls, and SMS. I do not want your data. Many people already have broadband at home and they also do not want your data.

Just because you have good signal across India does not mean you can do whatever you want. You have removed small plans, and your voice-only plans now cost almost the same as regular plans.

Trust me, these companies will do anything to earn more profit. It will get even worse in the future if TRAI keeps sleeping.

ಮಾಜಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಚಿವ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ನಿತಿನ್ ಗಡ್ಕರಿ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ದಿಂದಾಗಿ 473 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾದ ದೇಶದ 2ನೇ ಅತಿದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಾಗರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಹೊಳೆಬಾಗಿಲು- ಕಳಸವಳ್ಳಿ ಸೇತುವೆ ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ಜುಲೈ 14ರಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಭೂಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ನಿತಿನ್ ಗಡ್ಕರಿ ಅವರ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರಲಿದೆ.

ವಿಶ್ವ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುವ ಈ ಸೇತುವೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿಗಂಧೂರು ಚೌಡೇಶ್ವರಿ ಸೇತುವೆ ಎಂದು ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವ ಜತೆಗೆ ಸಿಗಂದೂರು ಚೌಡೇಶ್ವರಿ ದೇವಿಯ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಹೊರರಾಜ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲಿದೆ.

ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿಯವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬೆನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 20 ಸಾವಿರ ಕೋಟಿರೂ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ, ಸೇತುವೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅನೇಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಸಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಾಧನೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಗಂದೂರು ಸೇತುವೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಸಾರ್ಥಕತೆಯ ಭಾವನೆ ಮೂಡಿದೆ.

Great news for Malnad region devotees! A special train has been arranged to make your journey to Mahakumbh 2025, the world’s largest religious gathering, more convenient.

Train No. 06223 will depart from Shivamogga (SMET) on February 22, 2025, at 4:40 PM and reach Prayagraj Cheoki (PCOI) on February 24, 2025, at 11:10 AM.

For the return journey, Train No. 06224 will depart from Prayagraj Cheoki (PCOI) on February 25, 2025, at 5:45 AM and reach Shivamogga (SMET) on February 27, 2025, at 6:45 AM.

This special train ensures a comfortable and smooth journey for devotees seeking divine blessings and spiritual fulfillment at Mahakumbh.
