Message to the Armed Forces on Customs, Camaraderie, and Compassion by Colonel Amit Kumar Veteran Tarun Kumar Chaudhri
In the Armed Forces, we proudly uphold our customs and traditions : the salute, the mess etiquette, the regimental spirit, the battle honour, the camaraderie of the paltan. These are not mere formalities; they are the soul of soldiering.
Yet today, amidst operational pressures, career competition, social media narratives, and institutional challenges, we must pause and ask:
Are we preserving only the rituals, or are we nurturing the relationships behind them?
Our customs were never meant to be hollow practices. They were built on:
Mutual respect between senior and junior
Genuine concern for the well-being of our men and women
Emotional bonding beyond rank and appointment
Standing by each other in adversity, not just in uniformed ceremonies
The strength of the Indian soldier has never been weapons alone — it has always been the brotherhood and sisterhood that binds us.
Love and care in the Armed Forces do not weaken discipline; they strengthen loyalty.
Bonding does not dilute command; it deepens trust.
Empathy does not reduce authority; it enhances moral courage.
When a soldier feels heard, protected, and valued, he or she will walk through fire without hesitation. But when isolation creeps in, even the strongest uniform feels heavy.
Let us revive:
The culture of mentorship over rivalry
Protection over politics
Integrity over convenience
Responsibility over indifference
Our customs must reflect compassion. Our traditions must reflect unity. Our leadership must reflect humanity.
A regiment is not held together by orders alone it is held together by trust.
Let us rebuild that invisible thread of love, care, and bonding for it is this spirit that has always made the Indian Armed Forces not just a force of power, but a force of honour.
Jai Hind...

@OfficialDMRC certain coaches of yellow line metro have lights not working inside making it an unpleasant experience. An early action will be highly appreciated.
@OfficialDMRC Travelled today again in Yellow Line Metro (Train 1406). Many coach lights were non-functional, making interiors dim. Request repair of faulty lights or replacement of yellow lights with brighter white lighting for better passenger experience.
