Gurgaon does not have the right governance structure. GMDA was supposed to solve that problem but it has not been able to. A small city like Chandigarh has many more IAS officers handling manageable splits of work. Gurgaon is unmanageable with current deployment.

यह वीडियो गुरुग्राम की ज़मीनी हकीकत दिखा रहा है..टूटी सड़कें, जगह-जगह कचरा, गंदगी, धूल और बदहाल नागरिक सुविधाएँ।

गुरुग्राम को “सोने की चिड़िया” समझकर सिर्फ revenue कितना निकलेगा, कितना development होगा, कितनी property tax collection होगी और कितनी enforcement की जाएग..इसी सोच से कब तक शहर चलेगा?

Global city को पहले एक साफ़, सुरक्षित, व्यवस्थित और liveable शहर बनाइए।

जो शहर अपने मौजूदा नागरिकों को बुनियादी सुविधाएँ नहीं दे पा रहा, वहाँ investment को बनाए रखना और नया investment आकर्षित करना भी चुनौती बन जाता है।

आखिर कब तक?

पहले गुरुग्राम को रहने लायक और व्यवस्थित शहर बनाइए। बाकी सब बाद में भी हो सकता है।

कभी-कभी हालात देखकर एक गाने की ये पंक्तियाँ याद आ जाती हैं..

“कभी ख़ुद पे, कभी हालात पे रोना आया,
बात निकली तो हर एक बात पे रोना आया…”
