Just want to re-up recommending the Fosstodon server. It is run/focused on people who support FOSS (free, open-source software) and, not surprisingly, they have been managing the growth well.

Volunteer admins over on non-profit Mastodon right now are doing some amazing things to handle the growth. If you are going to try out Mastodon, please be patient. Unlike other sites, these folks are not making money by the sudden influx of users.

@Popehat @KevinMKruse @gtconway3d Also, I hope folks keep in mind this is all free/non-profit/open source. Volunteers are jumping through a lot of hoops to add capacity in real time.
When you do join, keep in mind there is no algorithm. Populate your feed with who you follow. It will look blank at first.

A Russian cyber attack has hit the websites of multiple U.S. airports, including La Guardia, ATL, ORD, LAX and Des Moines. The attack is not affecting airport/airline/security operations, only airport websites. ATL says it just brought its website back up.

@BrianFeroldi Would love to see tax incentives to make SBC more employee and somewhat less exec focused. It's a great way to allow average employees to generate wealth and share in a company's success.
