@sopharush This whole thread is giving me peace that surpasses all understanding. It's what I need right now and I didn't even know it till I came across it. God Bless you all 🙏
I have a partner who will always do little things to surprise me but today he sent me flowers because it’s the anniversary of George W. Bush getting a shoe thrown at him. I told him months ago that I considered it a holiday. Never had someone pay attention to my nonsense before.
Heartbreak steals your innocence. I remember being so deeply in love and so naive—there’s a bittersweetness when I think back, knowing I’ll never be that soft or vulnerable again.
When my friends get distant I pray a little harder for them. You truly never know what one is battling with silently. It’s truly selfish to think everything has something to do with you!
I trust confrontational people a lot more than non-confrontational ones, because they have no problem raising issues, speaking up and being honest up front
We always want to skip the part of pain where we are angry, but it is this anger that needs to be addressed. There is this insufferable, white-hot fury that comes boiling up when you finally begin to realize a few things: how much you were held back; what the actual story was all those years…just exactly who had used whom. It is like this tsunami of anger hits you, and it’s so intense because, not only are you deeply hurt—they came under the skin; made you question yourself; twisted reality.
And that anger is potent and—it lingers. The thing is, it strikes you and then leaves when that train of thought ends. One minute you feel like you finally got over it, found peace, and then where the hell did this come from when that rage is bubbling up again. That is not a sign of backslide, but rather that you are still healing, really getting around the hyper-injustice of it all.
That anger is valid. It is a piece of taking your power back in, of knowing you were worth more than that. It is acknowledging the ways in which you have been wronged deeply, and being alright with experiencing every emotion that brings up. Healing is not a straight line, and those angry waves are just as healing of moments for you in this process. Your mind playing over and replaying everything tries to filter through the hurt, make sense of it, demand justice in its own way. Don’t shy away from it.
Soak it in, digest it, and make a change.
Texts and messages are for check ins. I think as I grow up, constant texting irritates me
Creates a false sense of intimacy that I don’t appreciate. Both romantic and platonic
Everybody talks about cutting people off but nobody really talks about the grief that comes with having to stand firm on that decision knowing it’s not what you wanted but what was necessary for your well-being
