Atasha's bagging the titular role of Annie Batumbakal despite her lack of powerful skills in acting, singing, and dancing is a big insult both for the actors and theatergoers.
This and the production's excuses (marketability, nag-audition naman and she's fit for the role, mabait at magaling makisama) just show how wrong the system is.
In this clip alone, it shows how a lead actress, who is supposed to LEAD, is being devoured by the rest of the actors.
This is a representation of our country -- those who have the connections get the job and promotion over those who are unheard of even if they have the qualifications, credentials, and potentials. Same goes in politics or other contests.
Hay labad. Hope theatergoers will be wise enough to boycott this production to send a strong message that beauty, fame, and connections are not what a play is for, but the excellent talent of the actors and great material.
they really did her dirty by casting her for this specific role — sa pagsalita pa lang kasi niya miscast agad 😭
mental image ko kay Annie B. 'yung G na G at street savvy na rampadora... big character talaga... and she seems a bit too refined per this preview
