End of story.
I don't stream. They make more from me buying a single keychain of Frieren then they'd see from me streaming the show 1000 times. It's not my fault streaming pays them basically nothing. You want to support anime directly? Buy a Blu-ray disc.
The more I have to deal with modern cloud infrastructures, the stronger my desire to just buy a farm and never touch a computer ever again. My job as a sysadmin (which I used to love!) became significantly worse since our parent company forced us to move into the cloud.
Even if one were to change workplaces to somewhere where they only use Macs, it is pretty much guranteed that they'll have a customer or project partner who relies on Teams for the collaboration.
@TheRitscher That's pretty much reality in any IT department you'll come across. With BOTH cloud hyperscalers AND LLMs around, IT has pretty much turned to shit.
Imagine hosting an entire convention built around monetizing parasocial relationships and then acting shocked when unhinged fans show up trying to connect with the very people who never wanted a real connection in the first place. Streaming culture is a machine that sells fake intimacy for profit and then pretends to be surprised when the illusion breaks down. It’s performative vulnerability, commodified emotion, and exploitation disguised as community. Honestly, it’s gross and it's something that I've never really participated in.
@KennyLauderdal3 I'd love to join the efforts of ripping rare and unusual anime, but I lack the soldering skills to modify a VCR or LD Player for RF Capture. 😢
I'm not gonna join your discord to download your Mod, Hack, Indie game, Album or whatever. Webhosting isn't that complicated, and if you're doing something that some companies don't like, hosting on Tor or Freenet is also not that difficult.

Netflix kostet bald 300 Euro im Jahr, Disney Plus 180, Amazon Prime 90 Euro.
Habe alles gekündigt, schaue jetzt ARTE und ARD und lerne dabei stricken.
Es ist soweit. Ich bin meine Oma.
