Jeff Bezos on NYC spending:
"If we ran Amazon the way New York City runs their school system, packages would take 6 weeks to arrive, we would charge you a $100 delivery fee and when the package did finally arrive, it would have the wrong item in it."
@NYCMayor How did the $100M that Zuck gave to the teachers in Newark work out? We literally have a real world example and this idiot denies it's reality. The guy lives in a fantasy land. Shame on us. Elections matter and now we suffer.

@NYCMayor I know of a few facts that deflate your entire argument. You won’t hire more teachers. You won’t pay them more. You’ll cuck to the teacher’s union and hire more administrator bloat.
@ry_paddy Dead broke. Social system the people won’t let them reform. A once proud military that can’t float an aircraft carrier - a Strategic Defense Initiative that still begs for money - home of the weak and once proud.
@internpierre I helped start a company here is the US. I was surrounded by ambitious, young, bright Europeans looking for money to help them pursue their dreams - amy which ultimately failed. Every European company you cite is OLD. Anything of significance since say - 1975?
Excellent speech by King Charles. So good to hear the clarion cry for Ukraine, for NATO, for nature and the environment, for democracy and the checks on power. JFK mentioned more than Trump. Starmer directly quoted. Europe mentioned several times. Vance looked ill. I loved it. Loved the confidence in British and European values
@GerardAraud@EmmanuelMacron His citizens have marginalized Macron and France. Their passionate embrace of their "sacred" age 62 pensions? All butter, no guns - eventually it will be someone elses guns
@democrats_eu@EmmanuelMacron It's sad. They'll have another "critical" summit in a week or two - then go home to their society and in Macrons case - a public outraged at raising the pension age to 64? It's weak and it's sad.
@eshanbuilds@Osint613 He knows that. First he's trying to tackle the problem in germany. American companies have no problem hiring from Germany, Spain or France - we offer a genorous salary, less social insurance (tax the young!) - thay are happy to work here and are a tremendous asset to USA.
As a European, I hang my head in shame. The US has shown that if you blockade an oil exporter, they fold quickly. Europe can do this to Russia and shut down oil tanker traffic out of the Baltic. But it doesn't. Innocent Ukrainians pay the price every day.

STUBB: I think, at the end of the day, United States will find themselves in quite a lonely place.
I'm most pro-American president in Europe. I'm avid transatlanticist. I want relationship to work.
But I also fully realize that, with certain patterns of behavior, there's going to be a feeling of, "Okay, if you treat me like that, I don't feel very good about it."
We can see that with European states, Gulf states and many others. I hope that it's in interest of United States to have close friends and allies, if it wants to continue to be one of the world's hegemons.
@HoskyWatcher@TheMoneyApe It is well known that Europe cannot defend itself from Russia. This is the essence of why the US is central to that war - Europe CAN NOT offer Ukraine a security guarantee - only the US can. European leaders openly discuss this - it's not a secret. Read a bit...
