Today is 6 months since the brutal invasion of Ukraine. Of Russia shelling civilian centers, of slaughter & violation. Today is also Ukrainian Independence Day, a reminder of what is being fought for. My own small way of fighting is poetry, the most recent in @poetrymagazine

@NeolithicSheep My partner and I, both trans men, are planning a move into separate housing for ~2 years for education logistics reasons. A not insignificant part of the process has been discussing which of each other’s shirts/hoodies/etc. we can each steal.

On this day in 1865, slaves in Texas were notified by Union Civil War soldiers about the abolition of slavery. This was 2.5 years after the final Emancipation Proclamation which freed all enslaved Black Americans. #Juneteenth
