Benita is being forced to defend her right to participate in a public debate
This should concern every Canadian, regardless of your views about six-colour rainbow crosswalks, “Pride,” or transgenderism.
The fundamental question is not whether you agree with Benita. The question is whether Canadians are free to disagree, and free to express their opinions in public.
In a free society, political opinions should be answered with more speech, not with taxpayer-funded legal proceedings.
Benita did not threaten anyone. She did not commit an act of violence. She did not commit a crime. She shared a political flyer and encouraged people to contact their elected representatives.
She now faces the prospect of having her speech be punished by a tribunal, which can order Benita to pay thousands – or tens of thousands – of dollars to the complainant, Laurie Hodge.
Strict parents with high standards who LOVE their kids will build future leaders who won’t be pansies.
Don’t let society make you second guess high standards.
Maintain high standards, challenge them but above all LOVE them unconditionally.
in this day, i would say that might be the last of your issues. they could be addicted to drugs, homeless, eating garbage because of no job, joining gangs. boy if fat is all you have to worry about...
As students head back to school and sidewalks get busier, remember: while you’re focused on your feed, drivers are focused on the road.
Statistically in Peel Region, a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle just about every day.
Before stepping onto a crosswalk, do the following:
✅ Put your phone away
✅ Look both ways
✅ Stay alert until you’ve crossed
Share this with your fellow pedestrians!
@DanBurmawy@auntie_polly This woman’s son committed a terrorist attack in N.Y. Only in Canada can a person associated with terrorism be allowed to run in our political system!!!
Makes me think of good ol' Hank Williams Jr's lines:
"I'd love to spit some Beech-nut
In that dude's eye
An' shoot him with my ol' .45
Cuz' a Country Boy can Survive
Cuz' ya can't stomp us out, ya can't make us run, cuz we was ol' boys raised on shotguns. We say Grace, and we say Ma'am, if you ain't into that we don't give a damn..."
The mother of a convicted ISIS terrorist who plotted to bomb Times Square and the New York City subway system and shoot concertgoers is running to become a public school board trustee in Milton, Ontario.
