Real leadership is never defined by the office you hold or the title before your name. It is defined entirely by the standard you choose to set.
In Ekiti, we are shifting the paradigm completely away from the old ways of political noise. We have introduced a new gold standard of governance where accountability is non-negotiable, inherited projects are completed out of respect for public funds, and every single citizen is treated with dignity.
This is what makes our administration an outlier. We do not just look at the next election. We look at the next generation.
We are building an enduring system of excellence that ensures long-term growth and harmony for every home.
On June 20, we are not just voting for a candidate. We are voting to protect this high standard of decency and progress.
Let us keep moving forward together.

Yesterday, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria posted on Twitter that Nigerians can now export cow bones duty-free to China.
Under the comment sections, some Nigerians were asking the ambassador to tell them what they are using the cow bones for😁
Some were telling the ambassador to tell his people to come and setup the processing facility here in Nigeria, so they can create jobs.
Funny people. I laughed at our inability to do simple Google search.
As a livestock farmer and Agro commodities trader, I already know the uses of cow bones.
And about building a factory here in Nigeria? Nigerians are the ones to do it, but sadly everyone is building hotels😁
Let me tell you a few uses of cow bones.
Here are 4 major uses of cow bones you can mention in your content;
✍🏻Bone meal fertilizer: Cow bones are processed into bone meal, rich in phosphorus and calcium, used to improve soil fertility.
They prefer this to fertilize their soil not the chemical sold to our rural farmers.
✍🏻Animal feed supplement: Processed bone meal can be used as a mineral supplement in livestock feed, especially for calcium and phosphorus.
We use this for chicken feed, pig, and fish feed production.
Verify the price per kg and you’ll be shocked.
✍🏻Gelatin production: Cow bones can be processed to extract gelatin, used in food, pharmaceuticals, capsules, and cosmetics.
Just imagine the volume of cow bones wasting in your village?
Pharmaceuticals companies are paying billions of dollars to buy it from those processing it.
And I believe those Chinese companies will focus more on this.
It is big money wasting away in Africa because we don’t know anything about value addition.
✍🏻Activated carbon / bone char: Burnt bones can produce bone char, used in filtration, sugar refining, and water purification.
Pause here and think deeply with me. They use bone char for water purification in their country.
But they produce capsules and sell to us for water purification😳
Let’s not blame them. We take responsibility.
Now, let’s be honest. This is a golden opportunity for us. Let’s export the cow bones and cash out.
Also, let’s learn how to process the cow bones locally and export the finish product too.
If I tell you now that chicken feed producers in Nigeria import bone meal, you won’t believe. Research it yourself.
A ton of bone meal is around $200 - $750 currently.
Bro, just imagine earning over $200 from wastage thrown around our local markets in Africa.
Business opportunity for you. Do your research and see how you can position to serve this market

FG LAUNCHES NATIONAL DIGITAL ECONOMY RESEARCH CLUSTERS TO TURN UNIVERSITIES INTO INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY HUBS
The Federal Government has launched the National Digital Economy Research Clusters under Project BRIDGE to reposition Nigerian universities as hubs of innovation, entrepreneurship, and global competitiveness.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, stated that the initiative aligns education, research, and digital infrastructure to drive Nigeria’s transition to a knowledge-based economy.
He explained that Project BRIDGE, a $2 billion investment, will deploy over 90,000 kilometres of fibre optic infrastructure to connect universities and other critical institutions nationwide.
The Research Clusters will focus on six priority areas: connectivity, digital public infrastructure, digital skills, digital economy, trust and safety, and artificial intelligence. The programme is designed to ensure research produces practical outcomes such as policy solutions, innovations, and job creation.
Dr. Alausa noted that the initiative complements ongoing reforms including EIBIC, the Student Venture Capital Grant, and efforts to strengthen NgREN.
The Honourable Minister of Communications, Dr. Bosun Tijani, emphasised the role of research and local knowledge in driving digital transformation, supported by initiatives such as the 3MTT Programme and National AI Strategy.
The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging digital innovation to drive economic growth and national development.

We are aware of a recent video claiming that the new tax laws will commence in 2027 and alleging the imposition of a 25% tax on funds for building materials and other transactions.
Both claims are incorrect. Contrary to the misinformation seeking to create fear, panic and disaffection, the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 has already commenced and does not impose a 25% tax on construction funds, bank balances, or business expenses. Instead, it contains provisions specifically designed to reduce the cost of housing, rent and real estate development.

Relevant provisions to make housing more affordable, encourage real estate development, and support small business property contractors and low-income renters include:
1. 𝑳𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒚 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏
𝘝𝘈𝘛 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 (𝘚.185(𝘭)): Land and buildings are now specifically exempt from Value Added Tax (VAT).
𝘐𝘯𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘝𝘈𝘛 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴: Where VAT is chargeable on any materials or service, contractors can now recover VAT on their assets and overhead costs, which lowers overall construction costs.
𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘢𝘹 (𝘞𝘏𝘛): A lower 2% WHT rate is applicable on construction contracts, helping to conserve cash flow and reduce financing pressure on developers.
𝘓𝘰𝘢𝘯 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘋𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘚.30(2)(𝘪𝘷)): Mortgage interest is tax-deductible for individuals developing an owner-occupied residential house.
𝘋𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘴 (𝘚.20): Property owners who earn rental income can deduct related costs such as repairs, insurance, and agency fees.
2. 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒇 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔
𝘙𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘧 (𝘚.30(2)(𝘷𝘪)): Individuals can claim relief up to ₦500,000 (20% of annual rent), increasing disposable income for low-income earners.
𝘝𝘈𝘛 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘯𝘵 (𝘚.185(𝘭)): The VAT exemption on land and buildings also covers rent which is fully exempt from Value Added Tax.
𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘱 𝘋𝘶𝘵𝘺 𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘧 (𝘚.134): Lease agreements with an annual value below ₦10,000,000 (or 10 times the annual minimum wage) are exempt from stamp duty.
3. 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔
𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘹 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯 (𝘚.51(1)): Individuals pay no Capital Gains Tax (CGT) when disposing of a dwelling house or an interest in one.
𝘙𝘌𝘐𝘛 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 (𝘚.162(𝘤)): Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are exempt from Companies Income Tax (CIT) when distributing at least 75% of their dividend or rental income within 12 months after the financial year-end.
𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴: Manufacturing of building materials such as iron, steel, and domestic appliances qualifies for specific tax exemption under the economic development incentive scheme for up to 10 years.
𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘹 𝘙𝘢𝘵𝘦 (𝘚.56): Scope for the reduction of companies income tax rate for large businesses from 30% to 25%.
4. 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑩𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔
• 𝘊𝘢𝘱 𝘰𝘯 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘵 𝘛𝘢𝘹 (𝘚.14(6)): The taxable value of employer-provided accommodation is limited to the annual rental value, subject to a maximum of 20% of the employee's annual gross employment income, excluding the rental value.
• 𝘚𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘧: Suppliers and contractors who qualify as small companies benefit from 0% Companies Income Tax (CIT), exemption from charging VAT and no deduction of Withholding Tax (WHT) from their invoices and payments.
5. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒂𝒙 𝑳𝒂𝒘
The Act does not:
• Tax money in bank accounts or bank balances.
• Tax transfers for buying building materials.
• Introduce a 25% construction or business cost tax.
• Delay implementation until 2027.
𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Claims suggesting a new tax on building materials or bank funds are false and misrepresent the law. Rather, the new tax law specifically introduced measures to make housing more affordable, promote real estate development, incentivise manufacturing of building materials, and grant rent reliefs to tenants to enhance their disposable income.
𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃:
“Fact Not Fear”, evidence beats emotion. If anyone makes an alarming claim or tries to misinform you, ask them “Where is it in the law?”
With the new tax laws, housing should become more affordable and rent should go down NOT up!

@TheYorubaTimes Our very gentle introtech teacher in Ijebu Ode Grammar School was arrested in 1999 before we wrote SSCE and was taken to the prison in Abeokuta because he designed and built a beautiful lever action rifle.
The Bank of Industry has received regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria to operate a Non-Interest Banking (NIB) Window.
This milestone expands access to ethical, asset-backed, interest-free financing designed to support inclusive and sustainable industrial development across Nigeria.
In 2025, from individual champions in athletics and other sports, to our winning female football and basketball teams as well as the Super Eagles who despite their bronze medal at AFCON2025, captured our hearts, scores of athletes representing Nigeria made our nation proud.
Sports is one of our strongest brands as a nation. It unifies us, breaks all our fault lines, inspires belief, and builds a sense of community that cuts across age, language, ethnicity, religion, and social status.
Over the past year, Nigerian athletes in various disciplines carried our flag with courage and pride across Africa and the world with Nigeria cumulatively winning an unprecedented 373 medals across all sports in 2025. From grassroots competitions to continental and global stages, the evidence is clear that when talent is supported with structure and preparation, Nigeria delivers.
I commend the National Sports Commission for the progress and successes inspite of the challenges. I salute the leadership of the NSC under the chairmanship of Malam Shehu Dikko for driving the reform agenda towards the resetting, refocusing, and relaunching of the sports sector in alignment with the renewed hope agenda and shared prosperity vission of my administration.
Yet we must be honest. For too long, sports funding was slowed by bureaucracy, fragmented across institutions, and when funds are released, they come too late to support proper preparation and even participation. Likewise, no meaningful investment is made towards sports infrastructure development and maintenance that meets international benchmarks. That cycle undermined performance and placed our athletes at a disadvantage. This must change.
I have therefore approved and directed the relevant ministries of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning and the Budget Office of the Federation for the resetting of sports funding to ensure that henceforth as from the 2026 fiscal year adequate provisions for sporting Infrastructure development, maintenance, sporting activities, programs, events and participation in international competitions are made annually in the national budget, and that all Funds so appropriated are released immediately once the budget is passed and assented to. Nigerian athletes deserve certainty, not excuses.
In addition, allocations for sporting activities currently spread across MDAs will be reviewed, restructured and streamlined, with the savings transferred into a unified funding framework under the National Sports Commission to strengthen domestic programs and international sports participation.
These reforms are anchored on the Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria’s Sports Economy, RHINSE, which positions sports as a driver for job creation, tourism, investment, and global influence. In addition, through scientific elite athlete development, active grassroots participation, revitalised federations, and the hosting of major international events at home, we are building a sports ecosystem that works.
Indeed, sports is our national asset and thus must be administered, managed, and funded in alignment with its special nature and demands devoid of any bureaucratic bottlenecks.
The future of Nigerian sports will be planned, properly funded, and competitive. We will support our athletes early, prepare them thoroughly, and celebrate them proudly.
Nigeria will continue to win, with pride.

The Naira hit ₦1386 to $1. This came the same day it was revealed that Nigeria is the sixth-largest contributor to global GDP growth in 2025. This is even as income inequality in Nigeria has improved to 33.9%, better than the US at 41.4% and China at 36%. Meanwhile, the inflation rate has fallen from a thirty-year high of 34.8% in December 2024 to a historic low of 15.2% in December 2025. Additionally, on Monday, January 5, 2026, the total market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange hit and crossed the ₦100 trillion mark for the first time ever, and ended the day at ₦101.807 trillion.
Even more importantly, in less than two years, President Tinubu added $67 billion to Nigeria's GDP, moving us from a ₦269.29 trillion economy on May 29, 2023, when he became President, to ₦372.8 trillion today.
Do you want to ignore this and vote for Peter Obi, who is the only Anambra Governor since 1999 under whom poverty increased by 29.7%?
If you don't vote for Tinubu in 2027, what do you gain? Who else could have achieved this other than Asiwaju?

You are right... Nothing is "Presidential" about him. Just as David declared, "God chose me before thy father..." - imagine how the Almighty bypassed your fathers, ignored your lineage and your forsook favorites, and rested its hand on a man you insist is not “special.” The eagle does not need the approval of chickens to soar.
Yet guess what? In his "not so special" stature, wrapped in the very ordinariness you mock, he will lead you and your generations until 2031. And when his time is fulfilled, his protégé will continue from wherever he stops.
We will demand decorum and issues-based engagement in the forthcoming campaign - like civilized, cultured, and enlightened beings.
Still, we have measured doses of toxicity reserved for those who, having walked upright for years, have refused to complete the journey from the jungle to humanity. After all, when you follow a rat into its hole, you cannot complain about getting dirty.
