Ngl, been enjoying my time with Final Fantasy XIII on stream. Despite it's linear level design and progression, and even though it's a game that plays itself and is not a game that I would recommend to anyone, it still holds up for me as a pretty fun rollercoaster.

I think a huge issue in the "gaming" community today is it's hard to give real feedback to a game and be actual normal critical so the devs can improve.

It all gets baked into the people who say everything is woke and make up stuff for news etc so it all becomes this hell 💀

I've been replaying the original FF7 and at some points the game does not tell you where to go next at all to push you to explore around, but then you'll easily find a lone house in your travel with an NPC that is relevant to your destination. The progression was all natural.

The PC version of FF7 officially supported the Yamaha XG MU80, which meant you could pass through the soundtrack through it and have the MIDI file played through the device's higher quality samples.

It's quite good on tracks like Mako Reactor. The synth crescendo is excellent
