#Hurricaneerin is hungry. It will feast on hot water up to 88 degrees. After using this heat to power its engine, it will dissipate said heat. Leaving a cool ocean wake in its path, ~10 degrees lower than it found it.
The water cools not just due to heat absorption, but also overturning /upwelling, wind and rain.

But in California the number of fires has dropped while the area burned has doubled. What has changed is conditions, not ignitions:

The #PalisadesFire is absolutely exploding in West LA and is quickly moving toward homes in Pacific Palisades. The images just continue to get worse. Sadly, the weather for Wednesday calls for even worse winds gusting 60-90 MPH in the Santa Ana Mountains.
