@KateBurkeNHS I think there’s something in the air at the moment! Def feeling similar (altho I know transition administration stress is partly doing it for me. 😳) But similar reflections coming up in lots of conversations with others too. Hope kindness accompanies yours & it passes soon. 🙏🏻
@DaphnePreece55@ClaydonHouse Oh me too! I had a glorious afternoon with friends (including some littles). So beautiful in the sunshine. As well as looking around the house and church, we made a den, found a fairy door, and purchased some second hand books (Postman Pat, and ‘800 yrs of Women’s Letters’). 🥰
Hard copy of the BMJ arrived today (as thanks for contributing). Would really love to hear others thoughts on the how chaplaincy fits (or doesn’t) with baptist theologies of ministry. 1/2
@callmeleighbee Yeah I think you’re right that interpretation of that is a very important pivot. And I lean towards your interpretation too. Would you like to see the ordination promises broadened out to reflect that, I wonder? 🤔
@rdsallynash You can - copyright for the article is mine. Out of respect for the BMJ please encourage them to join the Baptist Ministers Fellowship at a meagre £20 a year. 4 Journals a year, more interesting articles & even better, it will help us keep chaplaincy in Baptist conversations. 🙂
And thoughts on the related question articulated by @secraney: “How do we move congregational ministry from being so normative in our structures, that it is in fact, exclusive?”
GP receptionists - often get a bad wrap. I can honestly say that whenever I ring @WhaddonMedCentr the receptionist is lovely - so warmly human, positive and helpful, in the midst of what I understand is incredible demand. Golden at such an important gateway. Thank you. 🥇#nhs
