What a journey today has been😅

8am the minibus left Tilsley Park this morning as the boys headed to the University of Wolverhampton for the round robin style National finals🚗

The first game of the day was against Haywards Heath college and as expected in the nationals it was a tough fixture. We ended up being well beaten 11-4.

The second game of the day was between Hayward Heath and Cardiff City which we knew if Hayward Heath got a positive result our chance at National glory would be over. Thankfully for us Cardiff ran away 9-5 winners.

This meant we knew it was still in our hands. We had to win by more than 11 goals but, it was still within our hands!

After a brilliant start to the game we saw ourselves score 2 quick goals to go 2-0 up and the belief started to build. Cardiff responded with 2 goals themselves to bring us back level pegging with 5 minutes gone.

Plenty of time and plenty of goals to score the boys started playing some unreal futsal. We went into half time 10-5 up. A brilliant first half but we still had so much work to do needed a further 6 goals to become national champions.

An absolutely relentless first half from our boys blew Cardiff away as we eventually ran away 20-6 winners - absolutely unbelievable.

A fairytale ending in our first ever season in the Futsal league - we couldn’t be prouder of the players and staff🩷
