'Every cuisine has its own distinct "grammar", a set of deeply-held rules about how and what to eat'. This was my last-ever Table Talk column for @WSJ. Thank you so much to anyone who's read it over the past six years & to the brilliant @garyrosenWSJ https://t.co/fXXZSSw8ed

The Agrotunnel: sustainable, efficient, makes produce accessible to remote communities. Very cool & sounds like a good way forward in our current climate--both natural & economic. https://t.co/GRbhIe6OIZ
I really enjoyed this episode. I as a vegetarian for decades & didn't know there were so many varieties of tofu. Looking forward to learning more from George Stiffman's book. https://t.co/BP3ojJbVxQ #markbittmanfood
Agreed. Silicone pastry brushes do not work well for baking. They're not bad for spreading oil or a marinade on meat but are terrible for egg washes on baked goods.
I don't call it "intermittent fasting." I don't eat after supper & it has worked for me re: blood sugar & weight management. But I never go longer than 12 hours. If you are interested in IF, this is a good summary of the risks & how best to do it. Hint: moderation is key.

An older article the Guardian is currently promoting with a short video. I missed it the first time around. Definitely a long read but an important one. (Click the article link below the video to read the whole story.) https://t.co/ryqDwyodke
I’m curious what’s in these “bones.” I’m not generally a fan of random ingredients being manipulated to resemble real food but there’s no denying that we need to reduce meat consumption. Points for ingenuity here. https://t.co/p13NXiU90I
Did not know this. “After eating something acidic, ‘the enamel actually becomes thinner for a temporary period of time…That’s why it’s important not to brush your teeth after having anything acidic…you will literally be brushing away enamel’”. https://t.co/5pjxrHquoJ
Same. I remember going to a record store and buying The Lion and the Cobra on vinyl. When I made the switch to CDs, it was the first album I bought in that format. It’s still one of my all-time favourites. Never gets old, as she sings on it.
😆 I just printed something similar for my dog. Glad I’m not the only one. We garnish our guy’s food with crumbles of freeze-dried beef liver. And my instructions include a list of commands & his typical reaction or—more typically-non-reaction. He’s not exactly big on obedience.
