‘BANNING VIDEO GAMES NOT A GOOD SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEMS’
Video games are a “convenient scapegoat” behind minor-inflicted violence despite many studies finding no correlation between games and school shootings, Sen. Bam Aquino said.

‘PROMOTOR NG BEND THE LAW’
Senator Rodante Marcoleta accused the Gatchalian-led bloc of sabotaging the Blue Ribbon Committee's flood-control probe on Thursday, June 4, calling them "promoters of bending the law."
Marcoleta said that the bloc would "do anything" to halt the probe, alleging that they were attempting a cover-up after his Facebook page was reportedly hacked and amid the presence of the Philippine National Police (PNP) within Senate premises. | via Hiroshi Suto, https://t.co/E0yNJSWpUY trainee

‘MARCOLETA’S STATEMENT UNFAIRLY MALIGNED MEDIA WORKERS WHO RISK INTIMIDATION, HARASSMENT, AND THEIR LIVES’
The members of the Senate media issued a statement to condemn Senator Rodante Marcoleta’s remark calling the press “bayaran” during the Blue Ribbon Committee hearing conducted by Senate President Alan Cayetano’s bloc on Thursday.
“We, the members of the Senate media, condemn in the strongest possible sense the sweeping claim by Sen. Rodante Marcoleta that many members of the mainstream media are nothing more than paid hacks,” the statement read.
Marcoleta made the allegations after citing a sworn statement of 18 former Marines accusing some members of the media of receiving luggage containing cash.
“Public officials, such as Marcoleta, who make serious allegations against journalists have a responsibility to present evidence instead of just relying on inflammatory rhetoric that undermines democratic institutions. Again, the press is not the enemy of any political faction. It is not an extension of any political machinery. Its allegiance must remain solely to the truth and to the public it serves,” the Senate media stressed.
’NAGDELIVER KAY TITO SOTTO AT ERWIN TULFO’
UPDATE: Two of the 18 ‘ex-marines’ claim they delivered suitcases of cash to Senators Vicente Sotto III and Erwin Tulfo during the Cayetano-led bloc Senate hearing.
“Mabigat sa atin ‘to, dahil pinaniwalaan natin yung blue ribbon committee na pinamunuan ni Sen. Lacson, but everyone knows mag-partner talaga ‘yan, si Sen. Tito Sotto at Sen. Lacson,” Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano said.
