@SanaELedene Absolutely! He also pushed the emergency button and the hijacking button sending codes to ATC (air traffic control).
Also on FOX news they said he opened the microphone to the PA system so the passengers could hear him while he was fighting back and knew there was a problem!
My husband is a pilot.
He said pilots have a switch right next to them that unlocks the cockpit door from the inside.
So Captain Smit Machchhar probably didn’t just scream for help. He likely hit that switch before he went down, so the flight attendants and passengers could actually get in.
If the door stays locked, nobody saves that plane.
Kudos to him. That one move helped save a cabin full of people.
Captain Smit Machchhar is a hero among heroes. His brave actions aboard the FlyDubai flight this morning saved countless lives and may well have prevented a cataclysmic regional war
Captain Smit Machchhar is a hero.
Machchhar is a Hindu from India, so the media won’t mention him because it doesn’t fit the narrative.
Wounded and covered in blood, he fought back and held the attacker long enough for passengers and off-duty crew to pin the jihadist down.
Say his name. Don’t let them hide this.
This man is a hero.
Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.
Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.
Indian. Israeli. Emirati.
Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪
We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.
Not a miracle. It was awe-inspiring heroism and courage displayed during the attempt to hijack and crash Flydubai flight FZ1073 traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Hero: pilot and Indian national Smit Machchhar, who was attacked with a knife by his Omani co-pilot. While fighting his attacker, he was able to notify the crew and passengers (possibly by hitting the PA button). Lying in a pool of his own blood and still fighting, he was able to allow access to the cockpit while the plane was taking a violent nosedive, losing 17,000 to 18,000 feet in about two minutes. He fought like a lion and deserves so much respect and honor. @IndiaToday@ndtv@gauravcsawant@ShivAroor
Heroes: the ordinary Israeli citizens who did not hesitate a second and jumped to assist the crew in fighting their way into the cockpit and subduing the co-pilot. This level of heroism and courage cannot be dismissed. People often miss that Israel has a citizen defense force made up of doctors, artists, college students, grandparents, business owners who all serve to defend their homes and nation against attacks by other nations, terrorist armies, and decentralized terror campaigns.
Heroes: the flight crew who joined the passengers to get into the cockpit, subdue the attacker, and manage the passengers and chaos throughout the cabin.
Heroes: off-duty pilots on board who were able to get the plane under control and safely land it in Saudi Arabia.
It takes a village/tribe/community to keep each other safe, with people willing to fight evil when it comes to their doorstep. I have huge respect for all involved in this event.
Captain Smit Machchar (Gujarati ex spicejet) captain who despite being stabbed
• sent out a 7500
• sent out a 7700
• prevented the plane from dropping any further
• opened the door for the staff & passengers to enter & prevent the co-pilot from doing anymore damage
The whole world is praising the bravery of Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar, but you will not find a single Indian leftist, Desi Liberal, Congress coolie, or Indian Muslim making even one post about him.
The reason is that the pilot represents everything they hate:
-Indian
-Hindu
-Gujarati
-Brahmin
-The terrorist he overpowered belonged to the “terrorism has no religion” category.
This is 9/11 moment for them
Was the co-pilot of the Fly Dubai flight trained in Pakistan to carry out this mission? The country with the most experience of prepping up such evil. #JustAsking
🇮🇳 REMEMBER THIS MAN: CAPTAIN SMIT MACHCHHAR.
An Indian captain flying hundreds of people from Dubai to Tel Aviv was stabbed in his own cockpit.
Wounded, bleeding, with the aircraft plunging thousands of feet, he fought back.
Then passengers and crew did something extraordinary:
They stormed the cockpit.
They restrained the attacker.
Other pilots took control.
And that plane LANDED.
Hundreds of families got their loved ones back today because ordinary people refused to freeze when everything went wrong.
Captain Smit Machchhar — India and the whole WORLD should be proud of you. 🇮🇳
And to the passengers and crew who ran toward the danger instead of away from it:
Heroes. Every single one of you.
This is what courage looks like.
4 men arrested for harassing an Israeli woman tourist and making obscene remarks at her in Kishangarh, Ajmer district.
The arrested men are:
1. Mohammad Furkhan
2. Mohammad Anees
3. Farhan Khan
4. Akhtar Ali
They were arrested after the old video went viral.
After the arrests, the Israeli woman named Kovo recalled the incident and thanked the police for taking action.
She said that she continues to have a deep love for India and remains grateful to the people of India for the love and support she received after the video resurfaced.
The actions of a few can bring shame to an entire country. These 4 men don’t just disgrace themselves, they tarnish the image of India.
Captain Smit Machchar is recovering after surgery in a hospital in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Indian Govt in touch with Saudi & UAE Govt. Family of Captain Smit have left Mumbai tonight for Saudi to be with him. Prayers for his speedy recovery. He is a hero.

THE LENGTHS SOME WESTERN MEDIA GO TO BURYING THE THREAT OF ISLAMIST TERROR.
A stabbing in the cockpit with a view to hijacking and possibly crashing a jet with 180+ passengers and at least 160 Israelis is described as an "altercation".
Meet Captain Smit Machchar, the brave pilot who was stabbed by the hijacker on the Flydubai flight, fought him off, and helped Israeli passengers take control and save the plane.
He is an Indian national based in Dubai.
Hero!
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
