Most women who look into becoming a surrogate want three questions answered: do I qualify, what does it pay, and what am I actually signing up for. Here are honest answers to all three — including the parts many surrogacy agencies tend to leave out, and the one thing that changes everything depending on which state you live in. https://t.co/cwMHRAEGWa
From the very start of the process, Ellie and her husband, Elliot, told their kids that this baby would be their cousin, not their sibling.

"I became a surrogate after watching friends' IVF journey"
When Krista Scelza watched her two friends go through IVF, it hit home how difficult the journey to become parents can be for some.
The 33-year-old, who lives in Connecticut, had welcomed her daughter into the world seven years earlier and had enjoyed being pregnant.
Krista welcomed a baby girl for Adam Frisby and Jamie Corbett, from Bolton in Greater Manchester, UK — a journey she described as "one of the most rewarding experiences of my life".

SurroAdvisor joins the medical community and her family in mourning the loss of Maura L. Gillison, MD, PhD, professor of medicine, thoracic head and neck medical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Gillison found Human Papillomavirus (HPV) was causing more head and neck tumors than had previously been understood, and saved lives and spared patients from needless treatments.
Diagnosed with cancer of the small intestine, Gillison died at her childhood home in Willoughby, Ohio, with her family by her side, according to her husband, David E. Symer.
The vicious posts on here about Perez Hilton and his family — a dad of three in the midst of a severe personal crisis — are nothing short of disturbing and disgusting.
We all know somebody who has had a mental health crisis of some sort.
If you can't be kind, be quiet.

@ideaexploring Your desire for tight control of female bodies is your prerogative, of course.
But we hate to think of all the beautiful kids who would not exist if you had your way.
Just as today we trust women to vote, and drive, we trust every woman with decisions about our her own body.

What a turnaround. From a dark 36 years of treating surrogacy as a felony... to today, when Michiganders enjoy one of the strongest sets of legal protections for surrogates anywhere in the nation. And many people don’t even know it yet.
