My least favorite thing is when a movie is bad and people try to defend it by Doing a Reading of it. Yes, I understand that the movie is About Stuff, it is still a bad movie
@itsmrzolo Encapsulates my point, you want content, you do not want to engage with anything with an artistic quality because you are unable to understand it.
Harry Potter is a puddles deep worth of world anyways. Nothing much to expand and it doesn’t need to!
25 YEARS AGO GET OVER IT
Regarding Harry Potter remake
1. Adorable that you want to sit around for 8 years to see an outcome to a story that you’ve experienced TWICE
2. No, there is nothing that was omitted from book to screen that requires a more in depth adaptation
@itsmrzolo None of your examples add anything to to narratives conclusion nor thematic payoff. The films gave just enough context for these scenes, not my fault they went over your head. Though with your insistence on Needing more pretty much explains it
@Zookeepergirl11 These are already expressed in the film. How is telling them in a different way worth a dramatically granduer retelling of a story that’s has been around for 25 years, of which you can get your own desired effect by reading the books again! You don’t need a tv show to show you!
@Zookeepergirl11 Tre movie chose to omit them because they add nothing to the overall narrative or the expression of the stories themes. They don’t NEED to be there. Especially in the context of the film.
@itsmrzolo 1. A joke shop that is referenced in one scene and has no weight on the overall narrative or themes
2. Again, adds nothing to the context of the films narrative.
3. You’re given more than enough for it through the context of the film
4. See above
@Zookeepergirl11 1. These are plot holes, not necessarily a fault of improper adaptation
2. None of these circumstances have any lasting impact on the narrative nor themes of that narrative. The films portrayed well enough as an adaptation
