Thankful for...
the moon, stars
clean water & blankets
small bites, enough said
wry smiles & keen eyes
my space, your space
& our space
fearing less
& braving more
embracing new
releasing old
the next twelve heartbeats
the next inhaled breath
this moment shared
you
Seeds of hate are sown in the soiled ground of ignorance.
Honor all of those who have gone before us.
Benefit all of those who will follow.
Learning means living.
Learn.
Always.

Many things are built to endure.
Moment by moment.
Effort by effort.
Day by day.
But we are built to live.
Through learning and experience;
Challenge and obstacle;
Trial, judgement, and change.
Harness the power of your conviction.
Embrace your best life beyond cancer.
Live
Learning to live differently is a challenge.
It raises questions every day.
And for each of those questions,
You. Are. Still. An. Answer.
#change, #win, #Iamananswer, #Survivor2Contender,
Accepting circumstances is one thing.
Embracing challenges is another.
Yesterday, we survived. Today, we contend.
Pay close attention.
Here. We. Come.

Sometimes hard to argue with the numbers.
Always awesome when one of us forces a recalculation.
Prosperity always, @stacy_hurt. You are incredible.

Friends, Iβm thrilled to have a piece in todayβs LA Times. Iβve given a lot of thought to this topic. Itβs a tough one.
The good that can come when we stop seeing cancer as a battle to win or lose - Los Angeles Times https://t.co/T9agyM1ElO
The duality of survivorship is a complex burden. To consider others in the hard times of challenge and struggle is the mark of a contender. Thank you, Julie.

My Pet Scan yesterday showed no cancer. The rush of relief & gratitude washes through me, my family & friends. My heart is also with my fellow patients in the waiting room yesterday who may not get a good result. Cancer sucks. @TargetingCancer @beyondfiveorg @TROGfightcancer
A year ago today I was unable to walk having suffered a stroke. Thanks to the mindset learned as an Olympian, 2 months later I was back running! Today Iβm thankful to my family, friends, fans, and @mjp360 for the incredible support! #strokesurvivor#health#Olympics#motivation
Finding the means, finding the reasons, finding the ways. In the act of finding, we sacrifice for the gifts yet to be found. To relearn change. To relearn strength. To relearn trust. Because. I. Am. New.

#Parentingwithcancer means finding the moments you normally pass by, counting the most mundane milestones, and soaking in every second of those big things on the list. We had a big thing the other night at our first home @Dodgers game as a family, and my heart wanted to explode.
Experts = Experience. Learning requires that we contend with risk and vulnerability. MDs & Patients work to limit risk and vulnerability with the best possible outcomes. We can learn from each other in powerful ways. #communicate, #Survivor2Contender
I said the same in clinic yest to my #oncology fellow, @SusanScottMD! In fact, I used tweets from #bcsm#advocacy colleagues to teach her the toxicity of a drug she was about to give for the 1st time. Patients are the experts in the diseases they have lived. #MedEd cc @DrAttai
I've been trying to make myself at home, here, in cancerland. It's not a place one wants to make a home. But beating up the walls and saying "I dont live here" clearly wont work. I'm learning to adjust to my new "okay." And giving myself space to grieve what I've lost.
