Kicked off the Freedom Walk on Balagere Road! 🚨

Welcome to one of the most neglected areas in Bengaluru—Balagere Road, located in one of the highest tax-paying constituencies in the entire country. Yet, instead of basic, motorable infrastructure, residents and commuters are greeted with craters, waterlogging, and daily hazards where two-wheelers nearly get run over by water tankers.

During our walk, locals rightly asked: are they waiting for a fatal accident to happen before they finally lay down tar? With 60 crores sanctioned for Mahadevapura (including Varthur, Gunjur, and Balagere), taxpayers are left asking the ultimate question: Where did that money go?

Every monsoon, these roads flood and vehicle underbodies get battered repeatedly. Is this really what tax-paying citizens deserve? We joined hands with local residents to demand answers, transparency, and immediate accountability from our civic authorities.

Today my daughter’s school bus took 2 hours to travel just 2 km in Varthur/Gunjur road.

For those 2 hours, I sat there as a parent feeling completely helpless.

I work hard. My wife and I pay lakhs in taxes every month. We took a huge home loan mainly so we could live close to our daughter’s school and give her a safer, easier childhood.

And yet, this is what “2 km from school” means here.

In the last year alone, we have seen a school bus topple, a woman suffer serious injuries after a fall, a biker almost lost his life after falling because of a pothole, and many more incidents that never become headlines.

Every day, ordinary people here tweet, email, complain, follow up and plead with authorities.

We are not activists.
We are not fighting for a political party.
We are parents, employees, families and taxpayers asking for one basic thing:

Please give our children a safe road to come home on.

Today, more than the traffic, what broke me was the feeling that despite doing everything a responsible citizen is supposed to do, I had absolutely no power to protect my own child.

If anyone knows how ordinary citizens of Varthur/Gunjur can reach someone with the authority to actually intervene, please help us.

Daily situation of gunjur. Everyday kids starting at 7.20am reaching schools which are 2kms far at 8.45am.

@CollectorKadapa Sir, 3rd time sample was taken yesterday(15 July) at 2 pm and told that the results will be declared in 3 or 4 hours. 19 hours passed and no information about the results. 3 test samples taken in a week time and none of the results declared. Please help

@CollectorKadapa Thank You #CollectorKadapa Please look into declaring the test results of the suspected patients that you have visited. Some have given samples multiple times but none of those results are out and many of them are Psychologically disturbed.

@CollectorKadapa Sir,Thank you for making a visit to RIMS. My father got admitted on 11th Jul voluntarily due to some symptoms. He is working as ASI.He gave sample for COVID in Proddatur on 9th Jul and on 12th July in RIMS.None of the results came Sir.Sample id of RIMS: 4331543. Please do needful
