📰When Victoria’s top bureaucrats welcomed the new government in the final days of 2014, they painted a less than rosy picture of the state, speaking frankly under the cover of cabinet confidentiality. Their briefs to cabinet highlight “modest” economic growth driven mainly by rapid population, “poor” productivity, “weak” private investment, and “structural dislocation” including the decline of traditional manufacturing, automotive especially, at that time. ⤵️
These guys are supply-side nutters whether it be housing or immigration demand apparently doesn’t matter at all we just need more houses and more people. It makes the GDP line go up so it’s good and we never talk about the downsides.
