Statement From @USAYep President of Catholics For Catholics On Fr. James Martin Carrying The Monstrance At Napa’s NYC Eucharistic Procession

The Napa Institute and Tim Busch have done incredible things for the Church in the United States. One of the best things that they do is their annual Eucharistic procession in New York City.

The images that we have seen over the years of thousands of people processing in the heart of New York City with the Holy Eucharist flanked by countless religious and priests is a beautiful example of what this apostolate has been able to do.

Tim Busch, Chairman of the Board and Founder of the Napa Institute, has helped many other good Catholic works, and that should be noted.

That being said, I was in the middle of a retreat for priests at the apparition site of Our Lady of Champion when someone sent me the images of Fr. James Martin holding the Eucharist in downtown New York City as part of Napa’s annual Eucharist procession.

Initially, I thought this had to be a mistake; somehow Fr. Martin, who has caused great scandal among the faithful for his positions on abortion and homosexuality, must have slipped in and unintentionally ended up carrying the monstrance.

But upon further reading of comments from the Napa Institute and Fr. Martin himself, it seems that this is something the organization – or at least certain representatives – sanctioned and welcomed.

Let me tell you why this is wrong.

Yes, we as a Church should be reaching out to people that do not agree with us and are causing scandal.

But to quote the words of Our Lord, “Do not give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.” Matthew 7,6.

To be clear:

The pearl is Jesus Christ fully present in the Eucharist.

The swine is neither the heretic Fr. James Martin, nor is it people who live a deviant lifestyle.

The swine is the SIN with which they are engaged.

When a priest lowers himself and tries to make this sin seem acceptable, he has taken his priesthood and put it in the filth of the mud of the pigsty, along with the swine.

For the sake of the faithful who have seen these scandalous images, and out of love for the Church, I would plead Tim Busch and the Napa Institute to come out with an immediate statement apologizing for allowing this priest to carry the Eucharist at this very public moment of prayer.

There are two competing storylines regarding the prosecution of Ilhan Omar. One such storyline is being peddled by the Democrat/Media Complex. The other storyline is one that same media will never report. I’ll let you decide which storyline is which.

Storyline #1: An inspiring immigrant woman escaped from poverty, genocide and Communist rule in the poorest nation on Earth, made her own way in the United States and rose to national prominence as a Congresswoman. However, because she is a vocal supporter for social justice, an evil Republican President/fascist dictator has targeted her for abusive prosecution on trumped-up, nonexistent charges. Now she stands for oppressed Americans everywhere as she fights the power.

Storyline #2: The wealthy, privileged daughter of a genocidal, Communist Somali army colonel who had been trained in the Soviet Union fled to America with her father so the two could escape torture, imprisonment and execution after the father’s genocidal, Communist regime leader was overthrown. Upon arrival in America, the father and the daughter both committed immigration fraud and illegally obtained U.S. citizenship (or never obtained U.S. citizenship, the story is unclear). The daughter then rose to prominence with the backing of George Soros and his massive network of NGOs and PACs, was elected to Congress, was controlled by Soros and other Neo-Marxist groups who may well have held her illegal alien status over her head to manipulate her, while she maintained close contact with organized crime lords inside Minnesota’s Somali community. The bottom line is that it seems an illegal alien with genocidal Communist roots was illegally elected to Congress where she has spent years promoting Communism, organized crime and destruction of our Constitution and our national institutions. This reads like a Tom Clancy novel, but it’s all true and is one of the worst scandal in U.S. history. Now, finally, a President with iron will is holding her and her network of Communist thieves to account for their crimes.

Nidal Hasan murdered 14 lives at Fort Hood.

The official number is 13. But there were 14 lives lost.

One of those victims was 21-year-old Army Pvt. Francheska Velez. She was pregnant.

As Hasan carried out his murderous rampage, she cried out, “My baby! My baby!”

Hasan shot her. The bullet passed through her heart, killing her and her unborn child.

Those aren't rumors. Those facts were established at his court-martial and discussed by the military's highest appellate court.

Even the military prosecutor acknowledged it: “A single bullet—two lives lost.”

Hasan was shot during his rampage and left paralyzed from the chest down. He is now scheduled to be executed by firing squad on December 3. It's not cruel. It's not barbaric. It's justice.

But there is something else that needs to be corrected. The official record recognizes 13 murder victims. There were 14 lives lost.

Francheska Velez chose to become a mother. Hasan took that choice away from her and ended the life of her unborn child.

If we are going to recognize every victim of this massacre, we should recognize the unborn child who died alongside her mother.

Two SUVs in the driveway, six streaming services, three air fryers, and matching tattoos that cost more than their light bill. You think Grandpa had a tattoo? He did. It said “Korea, 1951,” and it came with trauma, not Instagram likes.

And the kids—Lord help us. “We can’t make ends meet, but Brayden needs the new iPhone!” No, he doesn’t. You’re handing an $1100 device to a child who still eats crayons and forgets to flush.
When we were kids, there was one phone. It hung on the wall like a family relic. The cord stretched just far enough for you to whisper secrets before someone yelled, “Get off, I need to make a call!” And guess what? We lived.

The TV? One. In the living room. With three channels and a dial that clicked like a safe. And if Dad wanted to watch bowling, you were a fan of bowling, end of story.

Now there’s a flat screen in every room, the baby’s got an iPad, the dog’s got a camera, and everyone’s wondering why they can’t afford rent.
Because you’re living like rock stars on retail salaries, that’s why.

The death penalty is admissible but should be rare — that is Catholic doctrine.

The death penalty is not admissible — that is Catholic pastoral application.

The new Catechism (CCC) reflects Catholic pastoral application since Pope Francis made the change. And that’s the problem. When pastoral application doesn’t match doctrine, or isn’t even close to the same, you get confusion. It also undermines the authority of the Magisterium. Doctrine and pastoral application should be either identical or at least similar. Rome’s recent handling of the death penalty is just one example of how the doctrine and pastoral application are being mismanaged.

I chalk this up to incompetence and naivety.

Another example is same-sex “marriage.” Doctrinally, the Church’s position remains unchanged. It cannot be approved. Pastorally, same-sex couples may be blessed as couples (Fiducia Supplicans). Again, the doctrine and pastoral application do not match. They’re not even close. This leads to confusion and contempt for the Magisterium of the Church. It’s bad Church management. 👇🏻

Not all of them, of course. But the LGBT rates have plummeted.

The Washington Post is absolutely baffled about all of this. But Scott Jennings helpfully mocked the beltway rag for playing dumb.

Elon Musk chimed in: "Indeed."

But the Woke brigade is having a little trouble parsing all of this. What's the inside joke? Why are conservatives chortling about this development? And why is USAID involved?

It's simple: Because the LGBT agenda is an astro-turfed fad that was largely generated by our culture.

And the rates are crashing back down to earth as the left loses its stranglehold on the culture.

"Half as many 9th graders identify as Bi compared to 3 year(s) ago," an X commenter posted.

The WaPo article is worth quoting at length, because it gets into the heart of the story.

Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than they were a few years ago, according to a new analysis of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.

The decline is particularly striking among ninth-grade girls, according to Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology at San Diego State University who published her analysis of the 2025 data on her Substack “Generation Tech.” In 2021, 30 percent of ninth-grade girls identified as lesbian or bisexual. Last year, 17 percent did.

“It really does look like a free fall,” Twenge said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”

Twenge has been researching generational differences for decades. As part of that work, she regularly analyzes data from the CDC’s biennial Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System.

The rate of boys who identify as gay or bisexual has remained roughly the same over the past decade. But a few years ago, after the pandemic shutdowns, the CDC data showed big upticks in the percentage of high school girls identifying as lesbian or bisexual. Within a few years, those rates began to drop, but only by a few percentage points. Though the overall numbers have continued to decline, older teenagers’ sexual orientation has held relatively stable. They are still more likely to identify as lesbian or bisexual than teenagers were before the pandemic.

The “free fall,” Twenge found, mostly comes from a huge drop in the number of freshmen girls who identify as bisexual. While 26 percent of ninth-grade girls identified as bisexual in 2021, only 13 percent — half as many — did in 2025.

So, they are unsurprised as the LGBT rates shoot up, but are baffled when the rates plummet? What kind of "researchers" are these?

Regardless, the WaPo story actually cites the USAID connection and bridles at conservatives who want to credit Trump for halting the LGBT craze.

Online, conservative activists celebrated the news as a win brought on by the Donald Trump administration.

“Amazing what happens when you cut the Department of Education and USAID,” Terry Schilling, the head of the American Principles Project, wrote on X.

It is true that the LGBT rates start dropping under Biden, but the massive spike also started under Biden. The trend lines reflect the cultural fad wearing off and this continuing under Trump.

The researchers try to dismiss the cultural argument by acting confused about why so many ninth grade girls have stopped self-identifying as gay or bi, while pointing to rates among 17-year-olds and 18-year-olds not dropping as steeply as a kind of counter-argument.

It's simple: Younger people are more sensitive to culture and environment and respond more quickly to trends than those who are older. The trendlines are sharp enough to demonstrate there is a real effect occurring across all groups.

Thus, we should all get the USAID joke, which is not really a "joke" as a point about the left's cultural hegemony and the way it uses propaganda to brainwash young people.

Siraj Hashimi drove this point home in PG-13 language.

There were a number of responses to the Washington Post that made the counter-point explicit.

RedState colleague Becky Noble remarked on this trend and explained why young people are so susceptible to fads.

The name of the game for young people, more specifically teens, is a rabid desire to fit in. It's impossible to ignore the fact that the study largely covers the years of the Biden administration, thought to be the most pro-LGBTQ administration in the nation's history. Combine that with a media that makes being gay somehow trendy and cool, and popular brands like Bud Light and Target that catered to the LGBT community, and you have a perfect recipe for kids who may genuinely be confused, but who also are told that being gay is "edgy" and "cool" at the same time. Not to mention the tick-off-your-parents factor.

At some point in the early 2000s, the LGBT agenda flipped from promoting "tolerance" to outright cultural engineering. The left went after children with an all-out push to convert as many of them as possible to the "gay lifestyle," because it is strongly correlated with radical activism.

Get children to rebel against social norms, against their parents, and against Christianity, and turn them into Marxist foot soldiers for the Woke cause.

This is why the Democrats abused USAID to push LGBT causes around the world. And it is why leftist publications like the Washington Post are so deeply invested in this issue.

Radicals don't actually care about who young people sleep with, so long as they are politically in bed with the Democrat Party.
