Biggest mistake I see devs make with AI agents: prompt scope.

Bad: “Add user auth with OAuth, email verification, password reset, and role-based access.”

That’s a sprint, not a prompt. The output will look complete and be broken in three places.

Good: “Create the OAuth login flow using Google. Use the existing User model. Write a test for the redirect.”

One task. One validation. Then next.

This isn’t slower. You catch problems at the function level instead of debugging four tangled files later.

AI agents are fast at focused work. They fall apart when the scope is vague.
